Guest batman_man Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 Hey, I have a few problems with my streak and wanted to know if anyone else has it. 1) When I tether my streak to my laptop (wireless/wired), it sometimes crashes. For example if I tether it and play Starcraft 2 online. Is it because the Streak cant handle soo much traffic? 2) My streak randomly reboots, if 2 or more applications are open. I am not saying I have 10 applications open at a time, more like 2 or 3, and it then crashes again. The only way to get it to work is to do a battery pull and start it up. Anyone else has these problems and/or know how to fix it? P.S- I am on streakdroid 1.9.1

P.S- I am on streakdroid 1.9.1 Streakdroid 1.9.1 is still in closed beta, instability with some of the lest tested features (Tethering) is to be expected. If you aren't a beta tester you really shouldn't have it.. Thats why the official links are meant to be hidden Random reboots can sometimes be put down to not wiping before / after flashing the rom (The Dell factory reset does a MUCH better job than clockwork / streakmod. Found in the dell recovery menu before entering clockwork / streakmod) Starcraft 2 doesn't use much bandwidth. However I don't see how you can play with those ping times (Multiplayer) :P Edited May 26, 2011 by Azurren

OP- Do the haptic buttons' LEDs flash 3 times before the Device powers off? It always happens when I am playing a graphic intensive game such as dynamite fishing, using SlingPlayer :P or when my 2 yo son is playing Monkey Lunchbox. For me I think that having the Otterbox Defender does not help dissipate the heat either. Kinda frustrating not being able to play "fun" games but like you my reboots are not random. Sometimes it reboots right away, and other times it gets stuck in a loop before loading back up. I have had this problem since DJS' 1.8 and it continues now with factory 351. I can't narrow it down since I got the otterbox and installed the apps at the same time. Although I cannot comment on the Tethering aspect for the streak since I use mine as WiFi only, it was a free beta, I can tell you that my Windows Mobile device when used as 3G to WiFi router will get noticeably hot to touch and will occasionally shutdown/Reboot.

I think you are right. My streak does heat up a lot if I tether it, and sometimes I have noticed the LED's flash before the switch off as well, but didnt think it was important. Do you have any fix for it? and @Azurren, its funny you say about ping times, because I have played SC2 multiplayer with no lag, until it shuts down. I even play COD on the PS3 with no issues. Thinking of going to 02 and asking them for a replacement. Edited May 28, 2011 by batman_man

Unless you are overlocking and living in siberia your phone should never shut down due to overheating  Windows 7 / Vista + Wifi = A gaming nightmare :P It actually wouldn't surprise me if you have a better gaming experience than I did using home Wifi vs you with USB tethering Edited May 28, 2011 by Azurren
