Hi Guys.

I've had my streak since Aug'10 and been on all dj steves roms (from 1.5.1) infact the last one was 1.9.0 which i've had for a while.

I decided to upgrade to gingerstreak because my phone has been randomly rebooting , hanging etc. So i made a nandroid backup, cleared dalvik cache, did a factory reset and flashed dsp1.mbn using fastboot.

I then removed the battery so that i could reboot, save the StreakDroid5-2.0.zip and use the update pkg process to install the gingerbread rom.

On rebooting, the phone shows the dell logo and thats it. it wont pass go. it wont collect 200.....anyway i digress.

Holding down the power and camera buttons to go back into fastboot does nothing (even holding for 5 mins) , Holding down the power and volume buttons to access the recovery menu does nothing as well.

Connecting to my xp pc has no effect either. the device is not recognized.

Has anyone gone through this and succeeded? I'm completely at a loss and it seems the only way now is to buy a new phone.

Yes, I have been through this, Download STREAKFALSH and run it just like QDL Tool. Once Streakflash is complete use QDL Tool and you are back in business.

Guys,

I was able to reproduce the "Bricking" scenario. On my dell (US version) If i run the "fastboot -i 0x413c flash dsp1 dsp1.mbn" command, it runs , however when you reboot the phone....NOTHING and i mean Nothing works. the buttons etc. The only solution is to

1. download Streakflash from Streakdroid.com (you will have to go to the search box and find it as its not among the listed downloads) ----Thanks to NIRAJ for showing me about streakflash.

2.After running Streakflash, run the QDLTool (also at streakdroid)

"please watch the tutorial on qdltool installation. i tried to go ahead without watching it and was frustrated from hrs on installing the drivers"

So there...if you ever come across my situation you now know what to do. Cheers and thanks to everyone who at least read the post and tried to think of a solution. Thanks again to Niraj who actually found and shared a working one.

Cheers.

Just run the QDLTool after streakflash. it should work.

After i did this is simply went back to 1.9.0. by flashing the amss and dsp1 files for 1.9.0. then i was able to get to the recovery menu and install. I'm rebuilding my apps list as i write this. decided not to go back to the nandroid backup because it would just take me back to the situation i was getting away from...random reboots during market download, video on 720p can never last more than a minute of recording without reboot etc. as well as irritating situations where someone will call and the phone just hangs.... cant pick the call, nothing works, buttons physical or soft. and only after the caller has hung up does it come back...very irritating. but anyway thats the price of living on the edge :P

Cheers, hope you get your phone back.

WOW !!!!!!...Are you getting the Cell Signal. My Streak got locked after Riff JTAG and it's still locked. I am not getting the prompt to enter the unlock code as it says 10 attempts are already made though I know its not the case. I know some more People who are also stuck with No SIM Card message after JTAG.

Yeah...We both sailing in the same boat. I think the reason for this Lock is Service Tag # being 00000. I think we should start a new thread on how to write/re-write the Service Tag Number on Dell Streak. Once we get the Service Tag # fixed, I think we will be able to unlock it too.

Also, I was thinking of using Rebel Sim, Have you tried it? I do not want to spend more money on it if it's gonna go waste.
