Guest me00lpw Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 Hi, I've just installed the CM 7.0.3 ROM on my ZTE Blade (from http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stab...mp;device=blade and I'm very pleased so far). However at the same time as flashing the ROM (as per the instructions on Cyanogen(mod)'s wiki @ http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?titl...l_Update_Guide), I also installed the relevant Google Apps zip (from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?titl...ion#Google_Apps [version 20110307]. When I first booted the phone up, all good, I was asked which apps I wanted to install from the google apps package (I selected all), but ever since, nothing has happened. I have subsequently tried going back in to recovery mode to flash the google apps zip again, but I don't even get the list of apps appearing now. I've also tried wiping the delvik cache (or whatever it's called). Someone has suggested the version of google apps provided has an out of date Android market which updates before the google apps install, thus locking out the remainder of the install, which sounds plausible, but I'm struggling for a solution. Any ideas?! Thanks me00lpw
Guest me00lpw Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 OK, so no responses. I got around the problem by reinstalling CM 7.0.3 + google apps and making sure not to turn on WiFi or 3G until after the google apps packages had all started installing (i.e. leaving only 2G on, as without 2G it doesn't even start). This all appears to fit in with the theory someone proposed to me about the Android Market being a newer version now than the one in the CM 7.0.3 google apps package. Anyway, problem solved now.
Guest Tony Sidaway Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Well done on resolving the problem. Thanks for recording the solution.
Guest Shieraz Shah Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 (edited) I am having the same problem, can not get gmail or other apps to download from market or from google app package OP mentioned; i am following the same procedure as cyanogen wiki for clockwork mod manual install, clean data, reset, clean cache, .... no use talk and search are bundled with CM so they are working, facbook and twitter download fine from the market I get the error, "application not found" in app market, maybe google is blocking the apps in my area. :-/ any suggestions? :EDIT: spoken too soon :-/ just found a mention to "market enabler" in an other thread, got my gmail working; latest youtube app too :D Edited May 30, 2011 by Shieraz Shah
Guest me00lpw Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Point us in the direction of said Market enabler please.
Guest Shieraz Shah Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 Point us in the direction of said Market enabler please. Google blocks many apps including youtube and gmail and even skype from app market to enable them Just search the appmarket for an app named "MarketEnabler" coded by rac. (It has a green logo with ME text) Install ME, open it and on "Settings List" in this app, I used the t-mobile (US), long tap > fake this now; open app market and all apps will be there. Install to your heart's content :D
