Guest meehog Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 You need to edit the hosts file in the /etc directory to allow specific sites, you'll need to find the server address of the ads that youre wanting to be allowed, for example if you want to watch 4od, you need the addresses of the ad servers that 4od uses. Then you need to delete that address from the hosts file. I had to use adb to pull the file to my computer, edit it, then push it back to my vega. Not sure if you can just delete the hosts file to allow all ads. An easy way? Not sure, I had to learn this from Google, other topics etc, I only did it once so can't really remember the adb commands needed, or I'd have given you more detailed instructions.
Guest warriorscot Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Isn't a little counter intuitive to put the ads back on when the hosts file was changed to block them it makes the browsing experience so much better. I wish all of them did it by default.

Probably , but this problem for me makes my vega lock up and I have to do a hard restart , cm7 does not haave this problem , but I would rather use Corvus 5 but it locking up is pretty annoying Not sure how to solve it
