Memory structure custom rom

Sorry for my stupid question, but I can't find answers to my problem:

I'm very happy with my new rom (LanceHs SS RLS5 phat). After a factory-reset out of the froyo menu my apps have gone, no surprise for me.

But also missing after reboot for example is titanium backup, which is included in the rom!

Shouldn't have the reset replaced my partition in the flash memory by the stored custom rom?

I really don't understand that... :P

Factory resets wipe the /data/ partition. User apps are stored here.

LanceH may have put some of the apps installed into /data/ - so if they were removed there would be maximium space for users, etc.

And so by factory resetting you are removing those apps.

Just re-flash the ROM zip file and it should restore those apps (but not data, ofc)
