Guest wasps Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 Hi, I have a Vega running mcR8. If I connect it to my tv using HDMI, i can see the picture, but the sound is still only played via the tablet. Should the sound automatically be transferred to the tv when I connect the HDMI cable? Are there any settings on the Vega to control the sound output? (I couldn't see anything in Settings --> Sound) I'm happy that the HDMI cable is fine as I've tested it against my DVD player. Any help is very appreciated. thank you

Guest wasps Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 I've just applied Corvus5, and tried connecting to the tv again. Still no sound. At the moment, I can't decide if it's the tv, or a hardware problem with the tablet. Is it likely to be a Vega hardware issue if I can see the video on the tv just fine, but no sound? Should all sound be transferred to the tv, or should I be able to hear audio from both the tv and the tablet? Sound transfers to the headphone socket just fine.... it's only when using HDMI that i have a problem.

Try turning TV off/on that sometimes clears the problem otherwise try another HDMI cable as the design of Vega means that fat HDMI cables don't always push all the way in correctly. :P

So I have to use the cheapo one I bought for the xbox and that works perfectly with the vega. My money is on your cable. Col.
Guest tom5 Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 HDMI connections are a bit strange. I have 2 tvs; on one of them my hdmi cable works fine, with full sound. The 2nd tv doesn't get sound even using the same cable as on the other tv. I suggest playing around a bit. You'll probably find a solution.
Guest yabbas Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Have/had issues with my tv. An old Samsung 50" Plasma. The screen would have green flashes in the black regions of the picture, and videos/etc stutter. TV works fine on an Asus UL30, Dell XPS M1530 and XBox 360 so I doubt its a fault with the tv. Oddly enough, Vega worked fine on an LG monitor (with sound) and Iiyama monitor via HDMI->DVI (no sound). Once my Vega's back from repair I'll try it out again and see if it still gives the same issues.
