u8220/8230 screen with u8150 motherboard?

hi, last night i was wondering about the possibility to mount the u8150 motherbord in a u8220/8230.... becouse it is very very fast despite the pulse, even if it has almost the same cpu....

i'm mad, i know XD

Not too bad, your idea. As its the manufacturer, the should use the same connectors. Your main Problem will be software based. You need to patch the Kernel für the bigger screen, otherwise even with the big screen you would jus see your crappy 320 x240 pix.

Another problem could be the the dimension of your board, because of the hardkeys, antennas and power connectors.

it fast becouse screen so small. compare 320*480 (8220|8230) and 240*320 (8150). he has two times less pixels than the 8230. and as a result - high-speed rendering.

No, it has got 256Mbs instead of 192MB RAM, that makes the Pulse Mini a bit faster than normal Pulse. Although it has got a bigger Flashmem, for Rom, stuff and Cache.

side the Mini lurks a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor running at 528MHz with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of Flash storage. The Mini has a Micro SD slot good for cards of up to 32GB capacity, though T-Mobile only chucks in a 2GB example.

Well, apparently the U8150 has a GPU, Adreno 200.

It probably wouldn't even boot, due to the fact that a LCD panel can only get one resolution. If you throw a 320x240 feed at it it'll not work at all, unless the LCD panel has a built-in scaler.

Also 320x240 QVGA is 4:3, while 480x320 is 3:2. Not the same aspect ratio, so you have a lot of wasted screen space even if you scale it.

Of course, you could probably figure out how to change the resolution in software.
