Guest ought Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Hello, I clumsily fell over today causing minor injury to myself and also cracking the inner layer of glass on the screen of my San Francisco, slowly the picture developed a red tinge, with a bit of blue, almost as if ink had leaked. Now it is bright pink all over and one corner is blue. So, could anybody please help and tell me the best way to back everything up so I can easily reisntall on a new San Francisco? I have a modded ROM, Japanese Jellyfish RLS6, Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf and Clockwork V2.5.1.8. Also, what will happen to the phone and its screen, will it keep on working, just with a pink and blue hue? And finally, is this still the best phone to get? I have had mine since October and it is lovely, but I would have to spend another £100 to get a new one!! Is it the way to go? Thank you for any help or advice ;o)

You can also try Titanium Backup to backup all your games and apps and data associated with them e.g. Game save data. Go into clockwork > backup and copy that folder of the backup to your computer. When you get a new San Francisco root it and put CWM recovery on again. In the folder called Clockworkmod > Backup place the folder of the Nandroid from your computer and restore. It'll probably keep working. Hmm, it's successor is coming out soon apparently and people seem to like this Huawei device but I'm not sure.

I am about to go away to Wales next week and really could do with it for calls and internet tethering to my laptop. I really won't have time to get a new one before then... Cheers ;o)
Guest hugobosslives Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 if you restore a clockwork backup from one phone onto another blade. be warned, you should change the MAC address as they will be exactly the same, which will cause problems. I realise this shouldn't affect you as, you (presumably) won't use the broken phone, when you get your new blade. but for others reading this, that are thinking off restoring a nandroid from one phone to another. you will run into problems if you use two devices which exactly the same "unique" numbers.
