Guest Eran Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I just wanted to open a post which thanks and shows how much we all very appreciate the hard work many developers have been doing for our beloved SPV. With the app signing issue taken into consideration i say we all made an excellent start to the software, As I'm writing these probaly numerous people are writing down new software for this phone Spacemonkey,Mboden and all of you others who developed high end applications and also made gaming possible Thank you for all of your hard work! Eran
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Here here :) Without you guys this phone would have never got off the ground. Thanks Ashley
Guest ClintEastman Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Yes thank you all, Orange should be very thankful of the work that’s done by the good people here, we’re probably saving them thousands in support alone (imagine if this forum wasn’t here! OCC would be over-run in support calls) Thinking about it they’re probably over run any way, but you get my point! Good work and everyone pat your self’s on the back.
Guest Gorskar Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 yes indeedy - very much apprieciated guys! Thx to you I can now close IE without going back a million times, play doom, play monkey island, mario, and so much more! If any of you are round manchester Uni give us a PM, and I'll buy you all a pint!
Guest davy Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I agree with all the above. Thanks for all the hard work and frequent help guys. Keep up the good work. Davy.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Totally agree with all of the above - the best phone just keeps getting better!!! Cheers guys !
Guest Speedy Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 As mentioned thanks to all of your great work. I cant draw myself away from this site, my girlfriend is getteing p*ssed off at me, but it is very addictive. Cant wait to se more, i want more more more..... :) ;) And also thanks for keeping it freeware, much appreciated
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 It has to be said that without this site and you clever peeps then orange would have had a lot of SPV's returned. I'm never away from this place and must say I've been called sad on numerous occasions just because i HAVE to check that there aren't any more red folders. Or even better new bits of software. Please keep up the good work guys. and again THANK YOU ;) :D  :)
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 It has to be said that without this site and you clever peeps then orange would have had a lot of SPV's returned. Totally! I'm actually tempted to return it now that the P800 is going to come out on Orange, but I think I'll wait (for how long???) for the UK update to come out for the SPV and think again then. Plus I'd like to see a P800 in the flesh (which I haven't yet). Fortunately I've not brought any accessories for the SPV yet so although not small, my upgrade cost won't be as high as for other users. But hey, we'll see how it goes...
Guest kingdom master Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I have a p800 which i got simfree, as i test new tech, its great but the spv will remain the easiest to port stuff to. the p800 is a great piece of equipment. i will be writing a full reviews of several new handsets soon including the NEC 3g phone which i recieved last week. but back to the post thankyou to all the developers for your work, and i look forward to the god of all developers who makes the snes and megadrive available on the spv :) regards kingdom
Guest Treadsoftly Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Yes - I was lurking here right from the beginning of this forum, before the pretty little thing was out, if memory serves. Registered, and watched the site go nuclear. Top job all you bedroom boffins out there. Keeping me amused no end with all the cracking apps and emulators you're developing. Heartfelt appreciation guys!
Guest yzbob Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 well said everyone, i've got to say the certified and uncertified spv are completely different phones. the latter being excellent thanks to all the developers.
Guest TheDillyYo Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Yes Yes - I just had to add to this 1 to show my appreciation too  Biggup to all yaall Dappa Don developers cuz wivout your shizznit software and help from all yo dudes my SPV would'av been a very boring phone... So just to let yaall know BOOYAKASHA and RESPEC!!!! 8)
Guest dodgybob Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 Hip Horay for the Dev guys...!! Hip Horay for Paul and Hip Horay for the users and tech geeks who have shared their experiences and expertise... modaco wouldn't be the forum it is without the users! Without this holy trinity of ppl the SPV would not be what it is today... alas a small mention to Microsoft for trying to make such an innovative piece of kit and Orange for distributing it to the world! God Bless the SPV!
Guest gpedder Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 Well done everyone, i bought the phone thinking it would be cool, i find it amazing that i'm playing doom on it the week after. If things carry on the way they are going the SPV will become a kick ass product... (with little added by orange)
Guest ClintEastman Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 I have the feeling even pig-headed Orange can't pass all these goodies up! One solution could be a sponsored (by Orange), app signing scheme for FREEWARE apps and a more flexible system for small developers… Just an idea.
Guest ClintEastman Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 And the more "Killer Apps" get produced the less Orange can ignore them.
Guest SMYKUL Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Was digging through the archives, like you do, lol :) and thought this topic deserved to be brought back up. For those of you who have not read the previous posts in this topic, it was started before the days of midnight and even the e100s  . So, lets show our appreciation to all the wonderful modaco developers. keep up the good work guys
