Love the initiative and been working this morning on something that i think looks minimal and changeable enough to suit many tastes.

Pick a awesome font that I love, Brandon Grotesque...and all the main info is right there on the top. Hour (calm down, theres a am/pm version too!), date, city, climate, carrier/wifi network...on the right side of the bar is the push notification system.

The push notification system is slighty different than android default scheme. It does count the total number of notifications AND the ones that are yet unread, let's say since your last check. Of course when you slide down the notifications window (sliding the four white dots down) you can check them out or just erase the list.

There is another notification, a small chat ballon that pops on every new notification, almost like Growl on Mac Os X. It only stays on screen for like 2 or 3 seconds, so the usability won't be compromised.

The battery will be indicated mainly by the % info, but will be present on this small gradient colour box, coming from medium green (fully charged) to deep red (less than 5%).

What you guys think?! It's just a small draft...hope to get a more full preview tomorrow or till friday.

very nice, but i think it would be more usable if you could slide it from de right...i don't know, i think it's more like a book, or a magazine.

lol ... even one of the top comments say its not possible ... you need a front camera for it

it is possible, base the ui on the gallery app that moves in the same fashion. using the phones accelerometer.
