Guest Sami Beck Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Im just wondering how long till people stop supporting/stop making Roms? Basically What are its limits?
Guest k0zmic Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Im just wondering how long till people stop supporting/stop making Roms? Basically What are its limits? Probably when the software is just too 'heavy' for the hardware. Or when all the developers move on to newer devices. I reckon the Blade still has another year left in it at least. Look at the Hero for example, it's still got a very active community on XDA and that was released almost two years ago.
Guest CrystalLettuce Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 I think it depends entirely what you want to do on it. A lot of apps aren't going to ever need to use more resources than the Blade has to offer, simple games, browsers etc.
Guest shadowninty Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Once the hardware related bugs for CM on the Blade are solved, I guess there will be CM support for a long while CM7 for the G1 still compiles fine...

CM support continues so long as there's a maintainer for the device. Assuming there is, then there probably will be for a good while.
Guest deksman2 Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 CM support continues so long as there's a maintainer for the device. Assuming there is, then there probably will be for a good while. Taking into consideration that CM is Gingerbread and that it takes a while (several months) after the new Android OS has been released in general before it's fully incorporated into the devices available on the market (unless manufacturers decide to change this premise and incorporate new OS immediately), there is a possibility the Blade will continue to have support at least 6 months up to a year down the line. I would also surmise that unless the software becomes too 'hardware hungry', the Blade will continue to see upgrades until the devs move on to new hardware.
