Getting rid of the Friends Widget once opened

After upgrading to Froyo 2.2 I was playing around with the various applications and launched one called the Friends Widget that apparently allows you some kind of connectivity to Facebook and Twitter, neither of which I use.

On screen 2 there is a grey box filling most of the screen with title 'Friends' at the top of it but I cannot find a way to close it.

I've tried an advanced task killer but it doesn't seem to show up as any kind of running process and nothing that I touch within the grey box allows me to do anything at all.

Can anybody advise further?

Thanks in advance.

press and hold the widget then click delete or drag it to the bin on the screen.

edit: you tried that, maybe your launcher is locked, one launcher i used (dont remember which) came with the ability too lock the screen so that widgets could not be moved/locked. Press the menu from the homescreen and look through all the options.

Thanks ColdEmbrace. There was no bin icon but if I dragged the title bar to the bottom of the screen it vanished.

Much appreciated :-)
