Guest LSteam Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) NEWS: NEW METHOD: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/340...nsors/page/20/# Hi all :D I spent about 5 hours on writing a little app that solve proximity sensor issue of the OLDSENSOR THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL VERSION so...lets start this app make black your screen and disable soft keys during a call if there is an object near the proximity sensor (your face? :D) just download, install and make a call to test this app should work fine on all CM7 roms...so PLEASE...check if it works in MIUI roms also BUT REMBEMBER, use it ONLY if you have OLDSENSORS!!! EDIT: REMEMBER to remove SANITY before :D If you get any error just uninstall it :o Just a note: the HOME SCREEN key remain enabled during the call, so if something go wrong you can use it to return to your homescreen :( I'M WAITING FOR YOUR COMMENTS!!! Guest zorginho Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 I have been install it in this two rom LeoGB5.0 and cm7.1_liquid_83 i made a call and the screen went blanck and didn't came back I had to take off battery!! what i'm doing wrong!!!!! Leoginger has newsensors
Guest GameGain Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 it doesn't work on my device with thepasto's CM-7.1-.05.26.11-RC1 of oldsensors. when I make a call and my ear near the proximity sensor ,the screen is also on .else I can't see checkcall running ,is this normal? without the software, when I dial a call ,the screen doesn't off ,when I answer a call ,the screen goes off normally sometimes...whether oldsensors or newsensors...
Guest yapa73 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 disable the switch's sensor from the menu "Call settings" by unchecking the "Always use sensor" and instead of adding the checkmark in the "Keep alwaus the screen on" the same menu. then, usually, fully functional :D Thank LsTeam, and ThePasto :D
Guest MrVanes Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 It works like a charm on a short test to voicemailbox. But the problem is: that allways works. The problems start when I finish a "longer" call. We'll see what happens. The sensitivity seems quite ok to me (tried by moving fingers over sensor and back, quick response to that!)
Guest Small_Hacker Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 disable the switch's sensor from the menu "Call settings" by unchecking the "Always use sensor" and instead of adding the checkmark in the "Keep alwaus the screen on" the same menu. then, usually, fully functional :D Thank LsTeam, and ThePasto :D Your method works!!! thx But using the APk. Seems battery drain
Guest kaerry Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 disable the switch's sensor from the menu "Call settings" by unchecking the "Always use sensor" and instead of adding the checkmark in the "Keep alwaus the screen on" the same menu. then, usually, fully functional :D Thank LsTeam, and ThePasto :D With this method work fine, and the app isn't needed
Guest yapa73 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 With this method work fine, and the app isn't needed No, with this metod, the app work fine, and you have no conflict app/sistem strument. Try and look your screen wath it do, closing and opening the sensor Windows.
Guest LSteam Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 hi all :D today i'll finish the app: 2 methods to lock: 1) this method = black screen and softkey disabled + istant lock-unlock / higher battery drain 2) stock method = phone locked, better battery drain / require admin permissions and slow speed so everyone can choose his method ^^ and i'll optimize the code to include in liquidsettings... stay tuned and MANY thanks for your feedbacks :D
Guest MrVanes Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Battery usage screen is confused by your app: it says 100% by "checkcall". No extra drain is noticable, but I'd prefer to have a little bit more detail on the battery usage screen.
Guest kaerry Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 No, with this metod, the app work fine, and you have no conflict app/sistem strument. Try and look your screen wath it do, closing and opening the sensor Windows. if you use oldsensor in a clean .bin and clean rom, this app isn't needed because the p. sensor works fine (tested)

Guest LSteam Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 wait wait :D things are little more complicated... let me more time please :D
Guest zorginho Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) [...] 1) this method = black screen and softkey disabled + istant lock-unlock / higher battery drain [...] uh sounds great! specially on miui. Edited June 1, 2011 by zorginho
