Guest siam Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Ive had a look at the Android market but yet not found any thing that fits what I am looking for, so I wondered if any one here can recommend some thing , what I would like to do is place my Blade in its car wind screen holder , with the camera facing towards the road , and then be able to record a the view through the windscreen for the length of my journey, a bit like the small car dashboard video cameras you can buy, that store the recorded video on an internal memory card . Any advice appreciated - Thanks

Guest Swimmerboy Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 couldn't you use just a normal camcorder/camera app? Problem is one of space I think. Constantly recording and deleting videos is a chore. The off-the-shelf dash cameras used for this are constantly recording, but only saving the last couple of minutes in a loop. When you have an accident you hit a button on them and they save whatever's in this buffer to SD or similar. If you don't have an accident you don't have any video saved.
Guest ejhollin Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Would this continually write to the SD card or cache in the memory? If it wrote to the card all the time, wouldn't that wear it out quicker?
Guest siam Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Thanks every one for the advice, here's what DailyRoads Voyager say's ... DailyRoads Voyager is a free application for Android-powered mobile devices, allowing for continuous video recording from vehicles. Essentially, the application acts as a video black box, dashcam or auto DVR, recording everything, but only keeping what the user is really interested in. The user is usually the driver of a car, who can now quickly and safely capture video sequences of important road events. Typically, on an average journey of a few hours, only a handful of video files (5-10 minutes) are worth keeping. Nevertheless, the application records and saves everything that happens in front of the camera, while running a cleanup process in the background, so the SD card doesn't fill up. Older and unimportant video files are constantly deleted, while important events (triggered by the accelerometer, or manually) are stored away for later viewing. Additionally, photos can also be automatically captured at specific intervals. Video and photo files are timestamped, geotagged, and even uploaded according to the user's pre-set options. Speed, elevation and GPS coordinates are saved each second, and can be shown on the videos. Reverse geocoding can be also performed automatically or manually on photos/videos. Then, the accumulated files can be easily managed, played back, and grouped in selections. I'm not too sure how long the the record duration is before the clean up activates , and the affect if any on constantly recording to the SD card , what do you guys think ?
