Guest timfimjim Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 I dropped my San Francisco yesterday and the screen doesn't switch on. I think everything except the screen still works - the touch screen seems to function fine and I can answer calls. Has anyone got any advice on replacing the screen and any ideas where to find a replacement screen? Or would / could it be covered by warranty (not a single scratch on the screen), and is there a warranty for a san fran bought in an orange shop in England? Thank you for helping!
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Oui - get it returned under warranty. You'll want to completely remove any "stuff" you've been up to though - ie, reset it to stock. Oh and claim it just stopped working randomly :D

Oh and claim it just stopped working randomly :D yeah was thinking that haha, quite lucky that the screen is just completely blank. I was thinking that yeah, got cm7 on it at the moment, they probably wouldn't be too happy with that! How would i reset it to stock without having any screen to see what i'm doing?
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 My old phone (non smartphone) I dropped and the screen died. replaced the phone (was out of warranty) so few months later, dropped the phone again (screen works) :D. You need to reset ur phone too stock so you can return it
Guest timfimjim Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 Can someone please tell me the exact buttons (as in press up, up, home, down, home, etc etc) / post a screenshot of CWM - so I can do this: Mount USB. (I will put a stock orange and gen2-gen1 tpt on) Reset everything. Then I'll tpt it and hopefully have stock orange back...
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 You need to apply the gen2->gen1 tpt first: and that is relatively easy :D
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 In fact I think This post: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1706832 Is what you want. Should completely reset it to stock, no need for the gen2->gen1 tpt first: its an all-in-one :D
Guest timfimjim Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 Thanks very much for that link, will download it now. Could I be awkward and ask you for the exact buttons i need to press once in clockwork recovery? The phone works fine except the screen. So for example (down, down, home to get to ________, then up up up up home for ________). To mount the sdcard usb (so i can put the tpt on my sd). Thanks so much!
