Guest benny Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Hi... I saw the change from "SPV" to "SPV and Tanager" topic heading a while ago...but I was wondering if anyone has actually got their mitts on a Tanager yet? Not important in any way, just curious! B
Guest amo Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 What is a tanager. (*Goes back into his little corner feeling stupid*)
Guest SirGaz Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Amo How long have you been posting here? Shame on you  As the moderators like to say, do a search. But it's another version of the SPV, but Orange has exclusive rights to the name and look, so HTC built a different one and named it the Tanager. I think it launches in Germany first but will be available in lots of other countries.
Guest Bazz Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 A bit cheeky on HTCs side IMHO since the specs look identical to SPV. Can't see Orange being too happy with this as they have an "exclusive" deal. However if they are only launching in countries were Orange isn't it might not be that big an issue.
Guest madu Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 As the moderators like to say... He he.. Not only the mods! I see an increasing number of people making a note of that in the posts (and you) :)
Guest Big Ron - No Longer a Mem Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 You think maybe it could be short for "Tanager-ine?" Fruit or colour, it's a kind of Orange....
Guest lutzh Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Tanager is a bird - check TANAGER! if you wanna go on tour with him then click HERE. :-). And yes its exactly the same hardware. Just another "skin" (ugly in my eyes - which belongs to the orange exclusive thing of the SPV. Cheers, Lutz
Guest Will Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Female Hepatic Tanager has more orange underparts and a darker cheek. orange underparts whatever next! The Tanager looks suspiciously like a Canary ? Might do some research to see if it is the canary family? Will wondering if the first v2 canary/spv will be the 'Norwich' variety! :)
Guest lutzh Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 i guess the name belongs to the brains of ms - this are the ms internal names for these devices. but look - i really don't like the thing that will (better said should) arrive t-mobile germany in the first quarter: . but i am couriouse (right spelling???) to see if it will have less bugs (not that i can't get around those of the SPV)... cheers, lutz
Guest amo Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Ahhh I know the one you mean now. Just didnt know it had been named Tanager :)
Guest xanadu Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I was wondering if anyone has actually got their mitts on a Tanager yet? B Anyone that owns an SPV has a Tanager, as it's exactly the same phone, apart from different keypad and case.
