Guest King James MIA Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 Hello everyone, I live in China (Shanghai) and I recently bought a China Unicom's ZTE Blade (The model is called ZTE V880 here in China). It works on Android 2.2 and it's a GEN2. I want to root it to install a custom ROM to have access to the Android Market and other applications and also get rid of the chinese applications that China Unicom put in it. Following the guide on how to install a custom rom on the ZTE Blade (http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blade-roms-rom-customisation/335781/22-apr-guide-how-to-install-a-custom-rom-on-the-zte-u-v880-or-gen2-device/) I downloaded Z4root from my PC and tranfered it to my ZTE through the USB but when I try to install it with the "Filer" application I get this error message : "Parse error : There is a problem parsing the package". It does not work with Astro File Manager either. I tried downloading the Z4root .apk file from different locations, turning off the phone and removing the battery, "Unknown sources" is enabled in the Settings and I tried with "USB debugging" enabled too but still I get the same error. I also get this error when I try to install the One Click Recovery V2 application. I only got this error with those 2 application, I did not have this issue with the other applications I downloaded before so I don't think it is related to some kind of SD card malfunction. Can somebody please help me with this problem ? Thanks a lot in advance.
Guest King James MIA Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Thanks to burstlam I found out that the error was due to my anti-virus. I had to disable it before downloading the file into my PC. Now z4root seems to be working fine. I guess this thread can be closed now. Thanks guys ;)
