Hi everyone, I've set my Blade up to use my office's Wifi connection, so I can browse at a decent speed at work. However, when I log onto to the WWW and browse, it is showing that I've used some of my 3G data quota in 3G Watchdog. Why is this? Is it possible to disable 3G when browsing using a Wifi connection? Many thanks in advance : )

If you've not switched off the data it can use either.

The notification (pull down) power widget on CM7 can have the Toggle Mobiledata toggle button added to it.

Settings -> CyanogenMod settings -> Interface -> Notification power widget -> Widget Buttons -> then tick next to toggle mobiledata

It won't be automatic but you can then switch it off when you turn wifi on from the same notification bar.

Or

If you use the Power Control widget on the homescreen itself it can be set up with a data toggle too but I think you have to put a new one on homescreen to change the settings of that. Mobile Data tickbox.

It has a Wi-fi disables 3g option further down which I think would automatically switch it off when you activate wifi via the Power Control widget. Not used this though as I like the pulldown one.

AFAIK Android will always use Wifi over 3g when available.

How much data is being used on 3g?

I've used about 300kbs so far (since this morning) Maybe something's running in the background, that's using the data? (I know it's not a lot, but I would like to get to the bottom of this "data loss")

Don't know but about that anyway wouldn't the wifi disconnects on screen off send it back to 3g?
