Problems after upgrade

I hope someone can help me here.

I have installed the new ROM after buying my Vega on Tuesday, straight from the box but I am having some major problems since. Some of the problems seem to be covered, but none of the recommended solutions help.

1. Flash doesn't work. no iplayer, no you tube, no video etc. I have tried the remedies, but the shuttle_priv file does not exist on my device.

2. Email (gmail) doesn't work. It shows the messages in the list, but will not display the full message.

3. Bluetooth won't switch on.

4. Angry birds is there but won't open.

5. Camera won't boot at all

6. lots of other apps close unexpectedly before they even open.

Have I done something wrong? Can it be fixed? Can I restore to factory settings but still have access to the market?

Please help.

Go to http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/

Click downloads get the latest 1.10 system image. There is also the usb drivers and a guide. Reflash with the 1.10 factory image.

Which ROM did you install R8? You can reinstall if after doing the above.

Vegacomb is still in ongoing development and is only an early beta release. All the issues you have listed are known and still to be resolved. If you want full functionality I suggest you drop back to the Corvus5 ROM (Android 2.2) instead or live with the limitations of Vegacomb until they are resolved. Check out the VegaComb thread for more details.

Thank you very much. Could you please point me in the direction of a guide on how to drop back and also how to get access to the android market once I have?

Thank you again.

The thread regarding Corvus5 is here - http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...vus-teamed-rom/

You would install it in very much the same way as you did VegaComb.

ok, now I'm REALLY struggling.

I've downloaded and unpacked Corvus 5, every time I try and connect following the same process I installed Vegacomb with I can't connect. The USB connection isn't working since I installed Vegacomb so I can't do it that way. I've tried putting corvus 5 on the sd card and doing it that way, but that's not working either.

All I want to do is install either the original ROM or corvus but I'm really having bother. Is there a factory reset option or am I missing a step here?

This all seems like there has been some very hard and clever work gone into all of this, but I just can't get it to work for me. What I want to end up with is the hardware I started with but with Android Market access.

Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.

To get back to factory state, the instructions and the software needed are all on www.myadventvega.co.uk . If you want to get from that to just adding the Market (and a few other tweaks) but keeping it as straightforward as possible, there is a simple process here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337

Seems to be. All sorted now. Followed the instructions and now running corvus 5. I have marketplace access but can't seem to find facebook and evernote apps, is this normal?

Also wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help.

You have to download the Facebook app from the market, unless you had it before and backed it up in Titanium backup, in which case you just restore it; the same applies to Evernote too.

Sorry, not made myself clear there. When I search for those apps in the market, they don't appear.

Your not really missing anything anyway. The Facebook app for Android is just about the worse version of Facebook, it's very limited. All it's good for is chat.

That aside, is there any way of getting them? I'm also concrned that if they aren't showing up in a search, what else am I missing?
