Guest ejhollin Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 According to GPS status I can see satellites, but I can never get a fix. I had played around with the GPS settings according to other posts on here, so I assumed I'd messed something up, but I've re-flashed other ROMs and the problem is still there. My phone did do something weird the other day. I shut down on its own ans couldn't be restarted. After removing the SIM and sd-card it eventually restarted and everything seems fine. I can't remember if GPS was working fine before this though.
Guest 167pk Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 edit the gps.conf file replace the NTP server near your country , don't use the default
Guest ejhollin Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 (edited) edit the gps.conf file replace the NTP server near your country , don't use the default Well, that could be the problem because I fiddled with it - I replaced it with wbaw's modified one. Since that didn't work I've tried putting back the original one from SS5, and it still doesn't work. I've rebooted after changing the gps.conf and even tried wiping the davlik cache. What am I doing wrong? Edited June 4, 2011 by ejhollin
Guest ThrashMan Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 If all else fails reflash the ROM over the top, all settings will be kept.

I have made the comment a few times in the pass at how fast the Blade is at getting a sat fix, even faster than my purpose made sat nav. I am on JJ r9 and have never had any problems with the phone so I can only guess that some app I have downloaded is causing this problem but with apps coming and going almost by the day (same goes for up-dates) it’s hard to put a finger on it. Now too worried about TBH so I live with it.

Guest DWaldie Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 What does it mean to reflash a rom? Factory settings (settings -> privacy settings -> factory settings)? Or something different? It means downloading then applying a new version of the ROM operating system. Look in the ROM section for more info and a bewildering choice.
Guest JT_daniel Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Switch to the GSFB9. It's AWESOME. It used to take ages to get a fix on SS, but now it got a fix within 4-5 seconds. It's insanely quick.
