Guest Just Wondering Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 Hi , i've deleted the Talk app via titanium , i first set it to not auto log in etc , but i keep noticing Google messaging services and google cloud services running in my applications......i dont want them to be running , what is causing them to run ? i do click them to stop in my running services option , but they tend to come back to life shortly afterwards i am not using the stand email app , i am using maildroid , i have my manage account for my googlemail address syncs all set to off help please.

That's how Android it works. It pre-loads apps into memory so they're cached. You can stop them via an app like autoruns maybe? But you shouldn't have deleted Talk. I think it's needed for the Market.

Google Talk is a messaging app, similar to Windows Live (MSN), nothing to do with the Market. I deleted it as I have no use for it, and Market works fine for me. Think the only reason it gets bundled with ROMs is that you can't get it from the Market itself.

Yes market still works 100% with talk app deleted , its a shame unneeded apps run in the background , there must be a way to turn the two services off.

On 2.1 if you delete Talk the Market won't work, although I thought this was the case with all versions. Also, the Cloud services might be for Push notifications e.g. Chrome to Phone or the install request from the web Market. Edited June 3, 2011 by k0zmic
