Guest Cirno Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Yes you will need to re install Clockwork as it wipes the recovery partition. I was wondering you mentioned that the B136 had overclock ability and optimized kernel, however I see no ability now to raise my CPU and it feels somewhat sluggish.
Guest Cirno Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Another note I seen, where is Swype? I have no swype anymore have they not included it with the B136? Also as my post above asked anyone could help please :-)?
Guest Schejtan Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 just an odd question: is the b160 rom based on froyo?

No you cannot Overclock with the standard Kernel but there is one on XDA that can be overclocked to over 1.5 :D Also im not having any problems with it being sluggish, all working fine for me so not going to bother overclocking it. Swype seems to be missing from 136 for me too, but I never use it. Also volume keys wake it from standby for me too so this must be standard. Hope this helps :D

Guest That-Guy Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Could you link me up which one works? Keep your eyes peeled on this post: http://android.modaco.com/content/huawei-u...clock-boot-img/ He should have something up in the next few days :D
Guest That-Guy Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Have updated the first post to include info on the Gingerbread Theme and Installing Apps to the Internal Memory Card :D Enjoy!
Guest That-Guy Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) Added Circle Battery Mod to the First Post :D Edited June 6, 2011 by That-Guy
Guest Cirno Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Added Circle Battery Mod to the First Post :D Seen it kinda like it, thinking about adding it soon to the phone ! Here is a note from me with testing the B160 rom from XDA. It runs 30% faster than B136 rated this with quadrant and linpack benchmark, call voice quality is great, camrecording is faster. Flash 10.3 works ! Games run faster, wifi doesn't drop when actively used. Battery life is stronger than with my stock B133 and B136, and I had it overclocked. Overall I am really happy with the B160, if you have high standards of a ROM, then go for B160.
Guest That-Guy Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Added a few more things to the first post :D
Guest Cirno Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Added a few more things to the first post ;) Change the following from "false" to "true" to enable key unlocking screen. ro.config.hw_menu_unlockscreen=false Change the following from "240" to "225" to increase the resolution of the display. ro.sf.lcd_density=240 Change the following from "24m" to "32m" MAY help increase stability and performance. dalvik.vm.heapsize=24m Could you change that part with a before and after change values. I know it might sounds stupid but I would recommend making it "stupidfied"(simplified) easier for certain people, maybe like me.

Guest Ideos-x5 Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 (edited) How do I install that gingerbread theme? I'm getting my Ideos x5 next week, but I don't want to root him. But if I do, is it harmfull for my device? Thank you. Btw, you've posted something over this theme on XDA, but the hyperlinks in your post are all linking to a picture ;) Edited June 11, 2011 by Ideos-x5

Btw, you've posted something over this theme on XDA, but the hyperlinks in your post are all linking to a picture ;) You don't need to root the phone, you need to install ClockworkMod which will allow you to install the Themes .zip file (see first post). Rooting your phone is not harmful, infact rooting installs an app called SuperUser which allows you to choose what Apps can have Root Access (again see first post). Thanks for the Heads up about my post on XDA, have now fixed it :P
Guest Cirno Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Fix for Screen Shots coming out Pink on the Huawei U8800 I tried taking a screen shot with Shootme but the shots were coming out all pink (very strange). To fix this download "Drocap2" from the market and go to settings to enable "Swap endian" which gives the screen shots their correct colour. Can't use Dropcap2, while chosing swap endian it resets, thus allowing me not to take pictures, sucks !
Guest primozkoco Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Sory for stupid questions beacouse its my first time ROMing, Rooting... I want to know the diffrence bettwen the firmwire and ROMs and which is the best ROM for my ideos x5? If i update my phone to B160 firmwire, can i still install B160 ROM? Please tell me more about this things. And what is the diffrence between mods and ROMs. Can you add mods to ROMs ? -> tell me if I am right And congratulations to the maker of this topic (that-guy), good work!

Have you granted Dropcap2 Root Access in SuperUser? If that does not work try going to Manage Apps and Clearing Data for Dropcap2. Yes the B160 Firmare is the official version but the B160 ROM is a custom version, you can switch between them as many times as you want. Yes you can add mods to ROMs like Themes etc. I am using the latest International Firmware (B136) and Paul's Superboot which roots the device and has tweaks in the kernel to improve performance. Hope this helps ;)

B136 is newer than B160 and seems to run spot on for me but if you want to be able to Overclock you need to use B160: HERE.
Guest papatsonis Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) B136 is newer than B160 and seems to run spot on for me but if you want to be able to Overclock you need to use B160: HERE. B160 is not prerequisite to be able to O/C following this post, you can insert a compiled kernel image, in your existing boot.img from B136 (of course 1st backup you current boot.img) i use this custom o/c kernel (slightly undervoltaged than original genokolar's kernel as you can see on following table, which work fine on my Ideos, try and check if it is stable in every step.. as every SoC has different overclockability just like in Computer CPUs.) Original Genokolar' VID table : { 768000, PLL_1, 2, 0, 153600, 950, VDD_RAW(950) }, { 806400, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1000, VDD_RAW(1000) }, { 1017600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1150) }, { 1113600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1150) }, { 1209600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1150) }, { 1305600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1200, VDD_RAW(1200) }, { 1401600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1250) }, { 1497600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1250) }, { 1516800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1300, VDD_RAW(1300) }, { 1612800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1350, VDD_RAW(1350) }, { 1651200, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1400, VDD_RAW(1400) }, { 1708800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1450, VDD_RAW(1450) }, { 1747200, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1500, VDD_RAW(1500) }, { 1804800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1500, VDD_RAW(1500) }, { 1843200, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1500, VDD_RAW(1500) }, { 1900800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1525, VDD_RAW(1525) }, Slightly Undervolted Table : { 768000, PLL_1, 2, 0, 153600, 900, VDD_RAW(900), }, { 806400, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 900, VDD_RAW(900), }, { 902400, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 950, VDD_RAW(950), }, { 1017600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1025, VDD_RAW(1025), }, { 1113600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1050, VDD_RAW(1050), }, { 1209600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1100, VDD_RAW(1100), }, { 1305600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1150, VDD_RAW(1150), }, { 1401600, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1200, VDD_RAW(1200), }, { 1516800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1275, VDD_RAW(1275), }, { 1612800, PLL_2, 3, 0, 192000, 1350, VDD_RAW(1350), }, Edited June 12, 2011 by papatsonis
Guest primozkoco Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 And wht does it mean? That you can overlock on B136 ?
Guest papatsonis Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 And wht does it mean? That you can overlock on B136 ? exact, if you want upload somewhere the boot.img from B136 and send me the link, i'll edit to support o/c and upload later
Guest That-Guy Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 exact, if you want upload somewhere the boot.img from B136 and send me the link, i'll edit to support o/c and upload later OK can you use this boot image from HERE It is from the B136 Firmware but has been tweaked and adds root. Would be great if you can leave it exactly as it is but just add Overclock Support ;) Thanks
