Stuck on custom rom install - please help me

I am stuck downloading this file

Clockwork 3.0.2.8 (recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.8-blade-gen1.img) - not the ZIP file direct link

Its just downloading as a wierd notepad type file. What can I do, I am not techy at all and have spend all day trying to custom roam my orange san fransisco using this guide...

I am beginning to think I am messing up with my phone and adding all the downloads I have yet I am still stuck with all the orange applications. I really am not sure where I am getting it wrong and would appreciate any help on how to do it properly in layman terms. It all seems very easy but its taken me hours and yet I havent gotten rid of the orange stuff.

The first 1 is the 1 to go with you need to put clockwork & RecoveryManager at the root of the sd and the zipfile with the rom of choice and follow the steps in the video guide and thats it :D P.S check if your sf is Gen1 or Gen 2 first mind https://market.android.com/details?id=com.apedroid.pigfish

The clockwork file will be around 3.7mb in size, and doesnt really matter about what icon it shows up as. Just make sure to perform the steps about checking the md5, and make sure the filename is as "recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.8-blade-gen1.img" (no spaces in the filename otherwise recovery manager app might have problems).

Thank you.........VERYYYYYYYYYYY happy, I sussed it out in the end and now have Swedish Spring.

Its sooo easy once you get the hang of it and now I have new found addiction.

Well done, glad you worked it out. Make sure you dont get carried away with these custom roms, its so easy to get overly confident and miss a step.
