usb problem

Hi guys, im new to the forum and its great! i nearly went and bought a ipad 2, and i had second thoughts when i discovered this site! so i purchased the vega, great piece of kit for half the price of the restricted ipad thing!

I have loaded the r8 rom, and i have a problem reading my usb stick which is a san disk cruzer 16gb, i have some music on it just to try out but it just wont pick it up? any ideas? and will it be possible to load vagacomb, or is it worth waiting a bit longer when most of the faults are ironed out?

I am not too 100% but have u set the usb host to slave/host.

unsure if that would make a difference....

true vega is a great bit of kit but screen can be annoying sometimes

But the support makes this a must get piece of kit

I was apple bod for ages, then got a desire s, and just blown away with android , then i wanted a teblet with android and this was just the natural choiceLooking back , best 200 spend this year.

As Andrew suggests the mode is all important for attaching USB devices to the Vega as you must be in HOST mode and this can be checked by going to SETTINGS > ABOUT DEVICE and reading the Kernel version which will have the current mode appended to the end. Assuming you are in HOST mode already then use a file manager to navigate to /mnt/usb/system_usb/ and you should see the content of the stick .... failing that check on your PC to ensure the memory stick is formatted as FAT32 as your current Vega version level cannot read NTFS I believe.

As checked with aftersales in China, possible cause is limitation of USB current
