Hi all

Just got myself an Orange SF to play about with and teach myself more about Android. Thanks to guides on here & elsewhere, I quickly upgraded the stock ROM to Froyo 2.2 Swedish Spring RLS5 and it's working great.

However, when I try to upgrade to Gingerbread, I'm getting lost.

Am trying to follow the instructions at: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...r-easy-install/

I've downloaded 7.0.3 TPT and extracted to a folder called image on my SD card but then what? I've tried to install the ROM from recovery mode but it doesn't see anything in the folder. Using the .zip file fails. I'm stumped.

So far, am well impressed with this little phone. It blows our previous Wildfire out of the water and nearly as good as the Desire. The only downside is lack of Flash

First off, check if you're Gen 1 or Gen 2. To do this, download Mr Pigfish from the market and it will tell you.

If it says you're Gen 2, then you don't use this method. Just download whichever CM7 version you want to use from here http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=blade and flash it through Clockwork the same way you did with Swedish Spring.

If it says you're Gen 1, then you should use the method in the thread you linked. If you have the image folder on the root of your sd card (ie. not inside any other folders) and you've checked the md5sums etc given in the thread then you're ready to install it. If you read further down the thread that you linked, it tells you how to do this. Make a backup if you want. After that, turn the phone off. Turn if back on holding menu and volume +. Some green writing will appear on the screen. Leave it to do its stuff, then it should reboot into the rom.

After its complete, your phone is now Gen 2 (you can check this with Mr Pigfish). This means that you can flash any new versions of CM7 from Clockwork like you did with Swedish Spring before.

You have to unzip the files into an Image folder at the root of your SD
