I have been using JJ5 for quite a while and it was OK overall except for the wifi issue which was killing me.

After much waiting for the stable release I have decided to try CM7 (7.0.2 stable) GEN2, and it just isnt stable enough.

I have tryed wipe/reinstall but I keep getting restarts and crashes every other day which is just not acceptable for everyday use :D

Great new features and lots of great work gone into it, but... just cannot have the phone which reboots.

As I am not new version freek - I would like to have rock-solid 2.2 ROM which is stable and fast. Maybe just the rooted factory one?

Can you recommend the most stable and fast ROM?

For me it has to be FLB 11b. Now available for gen 2.

Yeah, 7.0.2 is not at all stable on the Blade. You'd have to use something newer than that to try out CM7!

Swedish Spring is the replacement for JJ and is popular and Gen 2 compatible. It's personally my preferred of the Froyo's but I don't use Froyo anymore.

I suggest, Swedish Springs is the most stable as it is based on an official ROM, and considering how long it has been since its latest update (RSL4 on mocado) there really is no bugs on it that need fixing

OK - so it would be SS5 vs FLB? Which is faster and more stock/stable?

And I will first try another CM7 if the 7.0.2 is not the good choice, which is stable now? Nightly which?

Use CM7 n93, if you are trying, it is certainly stable for everyday use, but still has some problems (cant think of any right now), check this: http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade_CyanogenMod

CM7 (android 2.3) is definitely the fastest ROM >>> SS5 and FLB

as for FLB vs SS5, I cant say, but I suggest SS5 because it is official and has some unofficial tweaks availible.

btw for CM7 you need to be GEN2, there is a very simple TPT method which allows you to switch back to GEN1 if need be, but SS5 works on GEN2 anyway.

OK, i will give CM7 N93 a shot before I call it unusable.

My phone is already GEN2 (needed it for the CM7 7.0.2 anyway).

THNX!

You should also consider two variants of FLB and SS. JGSM Gingerbread-themed FLB11b or Ginger/honey-themed Portuguese Spring RLS3 based on SSRLS5. PSRLS3 is overclockable, JGSM has an ocerclockable konstaT variant somewhere near 140th post in its main topic, so if you want JGSM to be overclockable, try konstaT variant. Both the ROMS are very usable. Both have notification power widget. Vanilla SSRLS5 doesn't have it! But vanilla FLB RLS 11b does.

SS RLS5 is very stable and everything is working fine. It is pretty fast also...

FLB 11b is good ROM. But FLB 11b has some issue with Wifi speed. I've tried to install this version on three different phones. Download/upload speed is something about 1 MB/s using Speedtest.net. I get 10 MB/s or more using the same Access Point in the same situation on JJ9 or SS5. Any ideas?

Flb all the way. I've never had an issue with it...DAYS of battery life, very smooth, very stable. Built from and older build than SS but I still prefer it.

Rememberer though, when choosing a ROM, you should always spend some time making necessary tweaks before you judge it, thats the point of android, tweaking it to the owners desire.

So look at available launchers and themes etc, and any other apps that add functionality.
