Guest Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I took a CWM backup of a clean Advent 1.10 ROM (just with Recovery added) - if I need to flash a clean start in between switching custom ROMs is it enough to CWM this backup (will partitions etc. be pt back correctly) or should I actually run the Advent 1.10 upgrade .exe each time? Secondly, I have now installed Corvus5 SP1. I have taken a Titanium Backup of all my Apps and Settings in this ROM - if I were to install Vegacomb or CM7 would I be able to restore all of my Apps and Settings using this Corvus5 taken backup or would it not be compatible due to the different versions of Android?

As long as you can boot into recovery and you go from a recent rom (Corvus5 or Vega 1.5) you should be fine to roll back to your backup of the advent rom as the partition sizes will be the same. Personally I would avoid restoring from corvus to honeycomb, it may work but there is a lot different, if you have fast wifi its generally simpler to just re-download apps and re-set up settings, plus you will get updated versions of the apps anyway. Apps may be okay but I would definitely avoid settings. Edited June 6, 2011 by Remington Steale
