Site now updated please post feedback and see my last post...

the site is a work-in-progress

That's it I went and did it oh b*gger what have I done oh dear I went and got myself another website oh christ and I havn't even got internet access at home!!!

After posting a rather controversial poll I decided to do it, I went ahead and registered a spv website.

Am I mad? quite possibly.

Whats it all about? go there and see for yourself.

Feedback on speed is very much appreciated at the moment but all feedback is gratefully accepted. Please remember this is a work in progress, enjoy....

What is the url? www.allspv.co.uk

I hope paul doesn't mind but I have linked to this site from mine.

Is that ok Paul?

Well, at least not another forum! :) Would be good to have a Software section there. But I like the idea. This should be the place for SPV downloads!! It pisses me off when sites just copy info from Modaco and provide the same tips/tricks kinda stuff. Hope you make it different from other and I can see the future...

Thanks my thoughts exactly I don't ever want to run head-to-head with this site Paul has done an excellent job at creating a one stop solution so yes no other forums are really needed.

I want to add a software section but need some advice on that.

Thanks again for the feed back keep them coming guys.

Nice - I wish you luck with your site. Paul probably won't mind, as its not a forum, and its not trying to rip off this site.

Like madukrainian says, it would be good if you could host spv software there in one easy to find location (with software authors permission of course) I dont think any other site really offers this yet. If the software author has a webpage about their product you should include a link next to the download link, as this will be the place to find out about it.

Just out of interest, how many non-free SPV sites are out there?

Site not found...

What do you mean not found? works for me and other people!

Might be a DNS propagation issue if you've only just registered it... I'm sure it'll be fine in a couple of days.

OK with regards to software for the SPV.

I am going to add an UNCERTIFIED and CERTIFIED applications page.

At this time due to hosting space I can only provide download/web links and a description + image.

NOTE : Developers and users please pm me with lists of available software and a screenshot or product image.

I will then begin to compile this list over the weekend.

If you product is hosted on a website which also explicit or unsuitable material it may not included.

How does that sound?

Great great great!! I assume if you have a nice s/w archive and/or just a list with links and screenshots - as long as it is kept up to date - it is a marvelous idea. I find it a pain to check for s/w updates say in 15 topics... And if you get it going I'm sure developers will keep you up to speed on things..

Hi all I have revised the site to include a software section for both certified and non-certified applications.

But at the moment it is rather empty....

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE with any info or links for SPV software please P.M me or post a reply here listing as many un-certified applications as possible and if possible the links to them.

I really want to get this sectio upto scratch as a complete reference of whats available.

Also a contact email has been added either post you feedback here or email me from the site.

All types of feedback is appreciated.

Many Thanks

Why did you bother ?

There is nothing there to look at.

There are loads of SPV websites already in existance :)

I reckon if it is made purely/mainly as a software archive/site and kept up-to-date I think it would be exclusive in it's own way. Ok there's smartphony for skins and modaco for information, but not any other site concentrates on software. Most others are just a collection of bits and pieces from these two which makes them sh*te. I'll give this one the benefit of the doubt!!

I agree, why announce a website thats still under construction? there is no content. Couldnt you have waited untill it had content? It will die very soon i'm afraid with no content. There are more than enough SPV sites at the moment and all have the same content. Still, it's your project, and good luck with it. :?

Nice idea to host the files there, but I think it would be polite to credit the various authors of the software - otherwise a good job.

I keep wondering if I should put together a site like this myself, but It would probably be redundant now, so I don't think I'll bother.

(Notepad is the only way to go for building a site! :) )

i was getting round to the rest of the site tonight, would just putting the developers usernames on the website do?

Do any developers out there have a problem with me hosting the files - let me know and I'll take them off

Funnily enough I also had a bit of spare time and guess what...

Not that I mind there being lots of SPV sites but it's worth taking into consideration what your site (and I mean any SPV site) can offer that you can't get from another. I'd ask people who are doing their own website to think about adding their own content and also maybe making it SPV friendly. Try making some cool wallpapers or simple themes (or skins if your more technically inclined). Maybe some useful ringtones or alerts? I have about 10 websites in my favorites (sic) menu related to the SPV and I have enough of a job keeping up with them. Some sites are good at phone content, some at news, some at discussion  what's your sites forte?

just a thought...
