Guest Searcher2 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 I have recently moved to FLB 11b. A couple of times now I have switched the phone off at night and when I come to switch it on in the morning it won't switch on. Even if I plug the charger in the charging light doesn't come on. It is rectified by taking the battery out and replacing it - but I would rather it didn't do it. Is it a known issue with FLB? It didn't happen with stock Orange ROM. Does this happen to other people? What was also strange was that when I switched it off I had 50% battery left. When I switched on it was 44%. I have noticed before that when I reboot I often have a couple of % less battery than when I switched it off. I assumed it was using a lot of power actually switching off and on... but to lose 6% when the phone wasn't even on is odd. I used Battery Calibration twice at the weekend after charging fully. Also ... as part of the manual battery calibration procedure you first charge with the phone on, then charge with the phone on. After fully charging the phone with it on it then takes another hour (approx) to charge fully with the phone off. What is going on here? What is happening in this hour? Is the "fully charged" status after charging with the phone on a false report? Is it better to charge with the phone off under normal circumstances to get better battery life?

About your first "question" not so sure there is anything that can be caused by a ROM too stop a phone from booting. The battery does drain pretty high during shutdown and boot. I'm not sure is 6% is a high usage but im sure if you battery was at 100% then you rebooted 94% seems plausible because 100% charge is technically like 95%. The battery doesn't charge too 100% just like 95% but will read as 100% Turning your phone off too charge wont make a difference. Switching your phone on/off after charge causes a slight battery drain and forces more life into the battery.
Guest Searcher2 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 So when I charge with the phone on to 100% then switch it off and charge is it just charging the amount the phone discharged in the process of switching off? If so 1 hour seems a heck of a long time for max 5% discharge!!

But you are right that is a long time, It is well known that the blade LED has an issue it turns green too register as fully charged when the phone is actually charged too 90% so it isn't something you should trust. There are post about this on the forum.
Guest Searcher2 Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Well the phone switched on this morning but when I switched it off last night it was 54% and when switched on this morning it was 41%. Something is wrong but I don't know what. I suspect the calibration messed things up. Edited June 8, 2011 by Searcher2
