Power button issue - Orange charge to repair 7 month old phone

Hi

I have had a San Francisco for just over 7 months and am finding it brilliant, apart from it has recently started to intermittently not respond to to the power button to wake the phone up!

Contacted Orange (who I got the phone from) and as it is between 6-12 months old they farm you out to a company called Repairmob, who want to charge a "postage and handling fee" of £17 to even take a look at the phone, then a further £15 to get the phone back if they decide its not faulty!

Has anyone had any lock getting a phone repaired/replaced that is over 6 months old without having to pay them loads of money? It seems a bit odd to me having to pay that much to get a phone that cost £100 to start with mended when its still supposedly under warranty

Thanks

Jon

Do you still have the intermittent issue when you take the back of the phone off and press the button itself. I had a similar issue so bought a new back from ebay for about a tenner and it is fine now.
