Try updating the database of recoveries, I think it's on the menu button

Is the rom you want to use a gen1 one?

If it was network locked have you unlocked it?

No that is correct at least it was for me when I installed Gen1 CWM the other day on a friends SF. It came up unrecognized recovery but works, I think it is just a RecoveryManager issue not a CWM Problem

Just try taking out the battery for a few secs, replacing it, hold volume down and then hold power until it boots into recovery (then let go)

Just because it says unrecognized recovery doesn't mean it wont work.

And what is you current ROM?

Oh and FYI the gen1-gen2 tpt would make things so much easier ;)

yer it will say unrecognised it normally does...

but thats not the issue. you have gen1. AFAIK gen1 recoveries stopped at 3.1.x.x

therefore your 3.2.0.8 is gen2 only......

i erased the sd card and reinstall what i needed, and now clock work recovery work.

i just install swedish spring....

so the solution was to erase the card first.

Hi, I have a Gen 1 handset running recovery version 3.2.0.8. I had to manually flash it because ROM manager didn't have the option to do so. But it works fine, though I can't see any difference from version 3.0.1.4.

Anil.

Hi Original Poster/and anyone else....

I would take what hugobosslives says wisely, he gave me some good advice too when I noticed my SanFran playing up. Although I solved it in the end, he confirmed the issue of the fault, which I believe is the case...

I too had the 3.0.2.8 Recovery, which I got from THIS site, and it said it was for Gen1... but I could not install the latest CM7... :D

Only when I downgraded back to 3.0.1.4 via Rom Manager itself, did my phone work again normally... ;)

So you'd be best advised to drop down a version or two :P

Cheers, Lister
