Guest Roph Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Are you making sure the SSID is being broadcast? Are you using a different channel (wifi analyzer for android helps a lot to check this) to your other wifi networks? Again using wifi analyzer, try doing a scan with it, does that see anything? Also check the settings of your wifi card/chipset on your laptop. There may be some GUI from the manufacturer, but there are also usually many more settings hidden away in the driver, typically found via Device manager -> (find your adapter) -> Properties -> Advanced tab I just checked mine and there are various ad-hoc settings, including a blanked SSID setting (I never use ad-hoc ;) )
Guest Magnets Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Just tried with SS. Wifi analyzer sees the adhoc network but won't allow me to connect (just says Android does not support adhoc) Android settings doesn't even show the adhoc network.

Guest skybooks Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) By default 2.2 does not support ADHOC. There is a way to activate adhoc on 2.2. Cant be bothered to post for OP, as has been arrogant and rude in previous thread I attempted to help him. If anyone else needs the solution, please post. Edited June 10, 2011 by skybooks
