Another Battery life thread (sorry)

Hi

I have been suffering with a 5 hour battery life on my OSF running 2.2 Swedish Spring ROM (I was getting 20 hours with the stock ROM). Installing traffic stats app I can see that the phone is sending/receiving approximately 0.5Mb of data in a 5 minutes. This seems high to be just the background sync. I have removed all apps that I have installed recently.

My question is, does anyone know of an app on the market that can tell me which phone apps are using the data?

Thanks

Jim

I suggest LBE security, and set it to block network access for apps that shouldnt need network access. You can then check the log to see what still tried to access the data connection.

Alternatively droidwall is also good for this, and probably uses less battery.

I had a similar issue to you when I went to SS5. I didn't hang around though and went to FLB and all is okay again. Sorry it doesn't fix your situation.... but maybe if all else fails try FLB. I didn't really spend long enough with SS5 to appreciate what it can do over stock ROM/FLB but FLB does everything I need it to.

Yeah, I dont have the confidence that it isnt the ROM at the moment. Which one is FLB?

I advise you to give CM7 2.3.4 a try. N85, the latest nightly. I haven't encountered any problems other than the proximity sensor. Battery life is great compared to previous cm7 roms. I can easily get 3 days out of the battery with moderate use, and 2 days with multimedia features like music, video and internet with wi-fi and edge. I deactivated 3g so that battery can last longer. I frequently kill apps and task killer pro is at crazy mode:)

You should certainly try cm 7 nightly 85. No other issues apart from proximity, which works first time you put your mobile on your face and then the screen is always on.

Sorry - the FLB I am using is this one

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-oled-tft-gen1/

I've just got over 2.5 days out of it. I don't use it for phone calls but have push email, weather and calendar syncing during the day on 3G. Do a bit of internet browsing in the day. When I go to bed I put it in Airplane mode and back on 3G when I get up.

There is a newer version for Gen 2 which you will find in the ROM section but I wanted to stay on Gen 1.
