Help Please:- SIP issues for incoming calls. (sip incoming , not normal mobile calls , they work fine) , using sipdroid / csipsimple or the built in sip account built into settings.....

Basically it all works 100 % as long as the screen is on , but when the screen goes off (with or without wifi enabled) any of the sip accounts goto sleep , so i cannot recieve incoming sip calls.

i have tried this through a pbexs.org account also....

any help on this please. i'm running green rom v4

Some SIP providers have a setting (check under "integration" or "advanced") to "lock wi-fi on", so this problem doesn't arise.

So check your SIP setting options; if your provider doesn't offer this then complain to them (so maybe they'll introduce it) and look at other providers that do: for example 3CXphone.

Or use an app like "screebl" to keep the phone screen alive.

Obviously, having wifi always on will greatly shorten the interval between battery recharges.

hi , i'm using sipgate routed through pbxes.org , so its always 100 % on .

odd thing is , if i have the phone on 3g and the screen goes off , the connection to my sip account continues to work 100%

but if i have wifi on , the screen goes off , then it goes to 3g , then the connection to my sip stops working........all very odd.

Sipgate is a very good company (in my experience) BUT we're talking about the APP you use to access VOIP.

Have to tell you I feel like I've wasted my time advising you: why should others spend our time helping you if you don't at least try what we suggest?

hi, 3cx is a forced close on 2.3.4 green, even when using compatibility mode.

I checked sipgate.Co.UK and pbxes.org, I could see no options for wifi, I shall msg them

i had the same problem with voip apps. it's because of the bug that kills wi-fi connection every time the screen turns off. you should download the regpost app to keep the wi-fi on.
