Guest Gavjbrown Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Hi, I was just browsing and my streak froze, none of the buttons did anything so I held the power button down. This caused it to restart but its actually reset everything like how it comes from new. Is there anyway to get it back to how I had it. Stock 2.2.2 with go launcher ex. Thanks Gav

Thanks Gav WOW dude that sounds like a stroke of purely bad luck OR you're leaving a step out you may have accidentally performed... are you sure you didn't accidentally factory reset? If not, and you don't have a nandroid backup (only possible with a custom recovery image like Clockwork Mod or StreakMod) then you are pretty much outta luck...
Guest Gavjbrown Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Thanks for the reply, all I have is a titanium backup so will have to arrange my screens again. I didnt know it was possible to perform a factory reset while it was started up like that. I must have hit the right buttons in my effort to unfreeze. Gav
Guest isitafox Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 My completely stock Streak did that to me and I was phoneless for a few weeks. Sent it back to dell who said they couldn't find a problem with it and couldn't replicate the fault so I had it back, stuck streakdroid 1.9 on an not had a problem since!

Might have to try that if it happens again. Bit of a pain as its took me weeks to add and arrange stuff to how I liked it.
Guest Gavjbrown Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Damn, its done it again. Froze on the market. Held down the power button and it wiped it again. Pain in the ass.

It's not your fault. When it wipes there is usually a message stating a memory error and to return the unit for debugging. I believe it means that the internal memory card is defective and needs replacing so you should send it back.

I'll keep trying it and praying.

Mine had this issue and it became a daily event. I bought a new SD card and swapped the internal card and it stopped doing.. I have since put my original SD card back in and I have not had this problem since - it might be that the internal SD card become loose rather than defective.
Guest isitafox Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 I never got any debug messages, it all started when it reset itself once then crashed whilst syncing with google (as if it were a brand new phone) then I just got com.process errors when I pulled the battery and restarted and it wouldn't even load the home screen. Did a factory reset and from then on it would crash randomly but it's never done it since I went to streakdroid.
Guest Gavjbrown Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Its just started FC on most things I was opening. Turned it off and then on again as normal and its back to factory settings again. Looks like it going to have to go back to Dell. Can anyone tell me what I need to check to make sure its all officially Dell and there no evidence that its been rooted in the past. Thanks Gav
