As the title and tried running on my lg optimus black ... obviously if you want to use you do so at your own risk ..

Download the file to your PC open and copy the file. apk, do not remove it but only by copying it,in the root of your sd and installed ....

run the program and after a few seconds you will be root ..

I used Gingerbreak to root mine. However I dont seem to have full root access and was unable to use android commander to removed system apps. I did get rid of a few using titanium pro but was unable to identify some of the LG stock applications with sufficient confidence to remove.

Here is a post on a German forum listing which apps are safe and not safe to uninstall on an LG Black. If you don't understand German, Green is good, Orange means remove with caution, Red is a Not Safe and Blue is unkown.

I rooted my P970 white using Gingerbreak smoothly. Can I turn off USB debug after rooted?

I turned mine off and it didn't change anything, so i'd say yes.

I rooted my lg p970 with gingerbreak1.2 and some app like titanium backup confirm that it's rooted, but when i remove some original app installed with original firm, i can't disinstall it. Maybe gingerbreak roots only a part of access?

no, it's a full root. I've remove default app without problem with Titanium.

Try to update SuperUser via titanium, or try to re-root with gingerbreak

Yesterday i made the firmware upgrade to V10D.

Unfortunately gingerbreak 1.2 doesnt work after this.

How can i root my device now?

Is there any update for the apk?

hi guys can you teach how to root using gingerbreak to my OB?

see 1rt post !

If you don't have v10c or v10d :

download Gingerbread on mSd card, install apk (for example with astro), lauch application and root (usb debugger mode must be enable)

@hotbird and other who have 10c or 10d, what imporvements do those versions have ? if it's not relevant, flash old version so you can root the phone.
