Guest richardcbristol Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I never seem to quite get the quadrant results others have although to be honest I'm more than happy with the ROMs performance which kick everything else I've ever tried squarely in the nads :-) Here's my sequence of events for last set of tests from my UK X10i on Orange: Started with 1.5.6 Trip ROM and Trips 67 baseband. And 1.6.1 zip on my SD card in the root directoryBacked up with MIUI backup apps that have saved games (3 Angry Birds, Cribbage pro, Jewels and Aqua Pets). Backed up system settings (all) with MIUI backup.Flashed Trips 2.0.49 baseband.Xrecovery. Clear everything as standard. Install customer zip and 1.6.1. RebootOnce the little green guy appears into phone, sign into google. Enable wifi. Download all previous apps from market.Restore settings from MIUI backupRestore apps from MIUI backup (just the games as mentioned above)Install a MIUI theme from SD card (Phone reboots) After that all working fine so ran quadrant as follows: 1st run: 1156 2nd run: 1252 3rd run: 1304 4th run: 1344 waited an hour and then 5th run: 1321 Possibly trip gets his 1500+ results from a bare rom with no apps on it? But quadrant to me anyway seems a bit dodgy on measuring the phones performance. Probably better benchmarks out there. Anyway far and away the best ROM I've tried so far. MMS doesn't seem to be working at the mo but every confidence that'll either be config or a Trip fix fairly shortly :-) rich
Guest TripNRaVeR Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I get 1545 to 1585 results with clean install 1.6.1. Indeed no apps installed.
Guest Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 turn on airplane mode ;) to get even higher scores because there is no signal or data traphic :P
Guest twerg Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 turn on airplane mode ;) to get even higher scores because there is no signal or data traphic :P Yes, but you need a network connection to see your score, cant do that in Flight Mode. Unless I dont know something?
Guest darkvalance Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Yes, but you need a network connection to see your score, cant do that in Flight Mode. Unless I dont know something? off air plane mode when they say send scores to internet then on it again Edited June 9, 2011 by darkvalance
Guest maikinho10 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) i have flashed from clean SE ROM to Trips 1.6.1 MiUI ROM with Trips bb pack.49 1 run:1100 . .. 4 run: 1445 two apps installed;) greets Edited June 9, 2011 by maikinho10
Guest iptelesys Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I have said this a thousand times, quadrant is a useless tool for benchmark, it doesn't handle reads properly... If I use data2sd I can get 2500 on quadrant, yet my rom is slow and laggy, it means nothing.
Guest richardcbristol Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 turn on airplane mode ;) to get even higher scores because there is no signal or data traphic :P Nah :-) Just did this and got a result of 1162 (I've not installed a single thing since my last run, just rebooted the phone once). Quadrant is rubbish. Trips rom on the otherhand is not. End of :-) rich

Guest Reintjee Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Best run: 1685 With 1.6.0 and Wolf's custom kernel installed.
Guest TripNRaVeR Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 quadrant score are different if u use quadrant standard or quadrant advanced ;) that's the answer :P I always use standard edition
Guest jpminou Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I always use standard edition I did test to two version on the same rom,one gave me 1300 and the second 1500
Guest Reintjee Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) I did test to two version on the same rom,one gave me 1300 and the second 1500 Wich was the 1500 ? ;) Edit: Highest ever: Z's Freex10 Beta 4 with data2sd (2630) Maybe I could try installing data2sd on my Trippin' (TripN) rom, but I think it wil crash. Edited June 9, 2011 by Reintjee
Guest BuglyAstard Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 I had a 2.2 rom installed with data2sd and got 2605 with quadrant standard, but it was laggy. I get around 1350 with trips roms, and others, but feels way smoother. I just used my cousins phone, a mytouch 3g, it was super smooth but only quadrant scores 450. Im not into the scores much, I think linpack seems to be a good tool tho.
Guest Ajael44 Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 I get 1545 to 1585 results with clean install 1.6.1. Indeed no apps installed. What du you mean "clean install" ? Start from StockROM 2.1.A.0.435 ? Coz I do this all times, and my Best Quadrant is 1441... Enjoy ! ;)

Guest smithinsundar Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 i git scores ranging from 1154- 1353 with five or six times test.... can someone tell hw does this happen....i mean the scores keep on drifting...which one actually denotes the actual score... n of course ihav installed more than 5 apps frm market...
Guest Atanu89 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Guys quadrant really isnt a good indicator of the phones speeds ;) its more when you use a Trip rom and just realise how fluid it is going after you have let it settle for an hour or so. I have been using TripNMiui GB 0.3.5 since its release and get constant quadrants of average 1350, although this does not do my phone's speed justice. The FPS is still notably capped but overall speed of starting up apps and switching between them is amazing. I haven't yet tried the new Wolf kustom kernal on any 2.2 roms but I might give it a shot as thats how people are getting the highest scores (just to see if it is more fluid), but the CRT animations and GB MIUI notification bar always have me going back :P

Leave the kids to live in their little dream world, don't start trying to explain to them how filesystem read and writes work, because they will stare at you with a blank look in your face.

Yup, they are. Just installed the data2sd patch from XDA (i think the X10Free patch) and guess what? 2525 score. But Linpack stays on 34. So, says nothing.
Guest JingleJo Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 I did test to two version on the same rom,one gave me 1300 and the second 1500 Yeh i noticed difference too. Never rely on these tools, people use it either to manipulate someone to use a specific ROM. Getting a high quadrant score does give me peace of mind though
