Guest VJJ Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Hi all, I have my wireless router on the ground floor but the range doesn't reach the office in the attic. I have a Cat6 backbone going up to the attic so have wired ethernet up here (and on every floor). I need a wireless signal up here, only really for my phone, so am looking for something that I can plug into a spare ethernet port that can extend the range. I've seen repeaters like Netgear's WN2000RPT but don't want the losses of trying to repeat a faint signal when I've got a wired ethernet port right next to me. I don't know if it's possible to repeat using a USB Wireless dongle to my home server. Thoughts & suggestions anyone?
