Scanning for WiFi doesn't work

Hi

I have the Acer Liquid E on Fido running version 2.2.2, (just updated). I click on Turn on WiFi and it took a really long time just to turn on. Now when I go to select Wifi networks it just gives me a blank screen and everything seems to be lagging. I also ran into this issue when the phone was fresh and not updated yet. Any suggestions?
