Guest ColdEmbrace Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) CM7 is just awesome. http://twitpic.com/4glr1u Photo not found Dx But I'll take it that im not getting a dodgy score and it would be worth upgrading from SS5 for the speed? Edit: okay pic loaded time to go tpt Edited June 12, 2011 by ColdEmbrace

Guest Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 The Quadrant score doesn't mean s*** for real-life performance - there's no point in comparing those scores or "optimizing" Android for higher Quadrant scores.
Guest Jetba Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 well, don't have pic but 1067. daemond that your opinion. Maybe people just want to compare for fun.
Guest Pelemane Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 CM7 is just awesome. http://twitpic.com/4glr1u That is lame score ;)
Guest Roph Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 It's a problem with the blade, stagefright, or quadrant, or a combination of both. With Stagefright enabled some of the media tests don't run properly and just appear to complete instantly (giving a large boost to the quadrant score). Thus the results are skewed. I can enable stagefright and almost double my quadrant score, but it doesn't mean anything. The phone isn't any "faster".
Guest Anil k Solanki Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 That is lame score ;) Out of curiosities sake, is that score really from a ZTE Blade? if so, which ROM and clock speeds did you use? Some specs would be appreciated. I mean no offence just in case offence is taken Anil

I usually keep it at 748. And yes it is ZTE Blade.

Underneath the hood 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread are not massively different, sure there are differences, but not like the jump from 2.1 to 2.2 which introduced the Just In Time (JIT) compiler, that made a huge difference to the OS overall. 2.3 Gingerbread focuses on tidying up the UI, like text selection, which is a lot better. And introduced some specific frameworks for game and media developers. But to gain the benefits apps must be written making use of those frameworks. High Quadrant scores make the user feel good, that is certain, but do not indicate if an OS will run faster, these scores are synthetic and don't take into account the fact that nearly all computing processes are part of a chain. If your SD card is slow it will slow down everything that uses it. Anil.

Guest Anil k Solanki Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Stagefright is broken causing super high "false" results Hi where have you seen evidence of "false" results? Anil Edited June 13, 2011 by Anil k Solanki
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Hi where have you seen evidence of "false" results? Anil Turn stagefright on, on your blade and you will see, basically stragefright convinces the tests it finished crazy fast so it gets a false high score
