Guest AndyVega Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 For those of you who are looking for a suitable launcher app for the Vega big screen, I recommend GO Launcher Ex especially since they recently added the ability to have more columns and rows of icons on the home screen. I have mine set at 10 columns and 7 rows which suits the Vega screen well.
Guest dibbles Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 I enjoy using this one... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046302 VTL.Launcher v.1.6.5 - tablet layout optimized. I have tried so many but with the above launcher it suits mine and my wife's need on our Vegas very well.

Guest MaxiP Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 +1 for VTL. Simply the best launcher for tablets out there.
Guest Ste_B Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Regarding VTL Launcher... Is there a setting for 'tablet optimization?' I can't see any real difference between ADW.Exe.

Bottom, left and right docks, scrollable docks, fully customisable docs just to name a few, it is based on adw but it took adw to the next level for tablets.

I installed it last night then ended up using the exact same layout I had used with ADW. Maybe some tinkering and a look more closely is in order.

Maybe some tinkering and a look more closely is in order. This is how it can look like: Dock on lower part, not left. I don't use the 2 available side docks. 8x8 grid to make use of the huge screen. All settings are in Menu->VTL-Settings
Guest phil8715 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 I use Go Launcher on both my Vega and my ZTE Blade.
Guest dibbles Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) What I also appreciate with the VTL launcher is the way that you can have folders on the desktop with the shortcut icons from games and applications designated to those folders, as they are defined as categories. So you would go into your app drawer and long press on an icon to then be asked if you wanted to assign it to a category group that you have created, in other words the folder on the desktop. The above and many other features, might not be unique, have kept me using VTL launcher above that of all the many others I have tried. For our blade phones we just use Go launcher, as that is adequate. Edited June 13, 2011 by dibbles
Guest HyperSquiZ Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 I use Zeam Launcher. Nice and simple and just need to make a few adjustments to make it perfect for me. Lots of options to change its behaviour. love it!

Is it a widget / scrollable ? Thanks
Guest Splinter82 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I use Go Launcher on both my Vega and my ZTE Blade. I use Go Launcher on my Desire, but I can't seem to get it working right on my Vega. The app list has gigantic text under the icons, cutting some of the text off, and I can't seem to change it >.< So I stick with VTL.

Guest bluemotion Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I prefer zeam; its lightning fast. What's the best way of setting a background on the Vega? Mine always seem slightly pixely no matter what launcher I use.
Guest HypoTurtle Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I've started to use panda 2 with vegacomb and will do so until VTL updates to be able to work well on honeycomb and I'd say its on a par with VTL

I found the biggest problem to be the zoom where the wallpaper is zoomed in but i got round that mainly with multi picture wallpaper app, it sets the wallpaper to almost identical to the original image and not too zoomed in. Also it lets you set different wallpapers for each screen
