Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum though I've been reading and enjoying custom ROMs for some time.

Recently I decided to upgrade my phone from GEN1 to GEN2 as I read about the benefits of better signal, etc. I did this using the TPT image and was enjoying Cyanogen 7 stable until I recieved a notification saying my SD card had been damaged. No apps would open and all my music and photos had disappeared from my phone. After some reading around the forums I decided that the best and easiest solution was to format my SD card. I wasn't too bothered about losing photos, music etc, from my phone as I had most of them backed up on my laptop. However, after formating the SD card and reflashing the same ROM I found that I could no longer download apps from the Android Market. I read that a few people had had this problem after upgrading from GEN1 to GEN2, so I thought retreating back to GEN1 would solve the problem. I downloaded the "Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip" here http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...n2-tpt-upgrade/ . I extracted the "image" to my SD root and booted up in the normal way, holding power, volume up and home. The TPT started to do its thing but got stuck on 97%. Then my phone turned off.

I've tried everything I can think of to try and turn it back on. Different USB cables, taking the SD card out, charging, but nothing works. There is no sign of life.

Is my Blade bricked? What can I do?

Edit: another question I forgot to ask... Would I be able to send it back to Orange?

I really appreciate any help guys. Thanks.

sounds like it's dead if you cant get any sign of life out of it. it's important to check the md5 of the files on your phone before you flash any tpt & make sure that you have enough battery power.

  1. try doing a TPT again
  2. try turning on the phone with both volume buttons held down. If the notification LED flashes briefly, go here
  3. take back to orange and collapse on the floor crying

sure, but that assumes you can turn it on.

Thanks for the above link. I tried it, followed the instructions but there was no sign of life from my Blade.

So yesterday I rang up the Orange customer services, told them that my phone would not turn on and they agreed to send me a replacement today, which has just arrived. Quick service! It seems Orange is useful for something after all. ;)
