Guest iSid Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Hi I have a few problems with my Dell XCD35 and the Dell service center suggested an upgrade to android 2.2 (my phone is originally Gen1 android 2.2 with 512MB ram). But they couldn't update it - they said some error was coming. I think it was because I have clockworkmod Recovery installed. Though I restored from a stock rom backup using clockworkmod, the clockworkmod itself remains, right? So how do I get the default Recovery Manager back in my Dell XCD35? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want the Dell service center voiding my warranty... Also, I have searched for a solution on the forums but couldn't find a solution. But if there was one, and I missed it, a link would suffice Thanks in advance...
Guest SeanJacko Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Hi iSid I'm very new myself to these forums. I think you might have posted this question in the wrong forum though, as it is specifically about a Dell product, rather than the ZTE Blade.

It's not the dell one, but it should work the same, and allow you to upgrade.

I think you might have posted this question in the wrong forum though, as it is specifically about a Dell product, rather than the ZTE Blade. Dell sell the ZTE Blade in India, it is re-branded as the Dell XCD35, but it is a ZTE Blade.
Guest ZTE_SeanJacko Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Dell sell the ZTE Blade in India, it is re-branded as the Dell XCD35, but it is a ZTE Blade. Apologies, I was unaware at the time of my posting that the Dell device mentioned is the Blade. I hope the advice that hedgepigdaniel gave helped. As the device is a Dell-branded device, it is unlikely that ZTE could advise on reflashing the ROM or making other modifications that might void a warranty.
Guest iSid Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Hi iSid how to permanently root dell xcd35???? plzzzzzzzzzzzz heeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllppppppppppppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeee............ An app called Universal Androot used to work for earlier versions of Android (till 2.1, i guess)... For later versions, the app, z4root works... But with z4root, i used to have to root it after each reboot... Anyway, I don't use the stock rom anyway.. so all i had to do was root once, flash a custom rom... and voila... permanent rooted phone! + other goodies.. :D

Hi, If you want to upgrade only to official dell xcd35 froyo, Download and copy the rom below onto your SD card (Dell XCD35 Froyo 2.2 (GEN2) - Signed ): Use the information at the link below to upgrade your phone to a stock Gen2 partition layout and install CWM recovery Once this is done, in CWM Click on Install zip from SDCard Choose the dell rom zip from the link provided earlier. Confirm the install. Once its done. Reboot and ur done. Following steps your phone should be exactly like how the newer Gen2 Dell XCD phones are shipped. With stock recovery and warranty intact ;)
