on sdcard.

/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/

they are named by date. so just delete the oldest dates.

You could also use ROM Manager to delete them.

ROM Manager is a great app. I installed Clockwork using it but you can name your backups when backing up and automatically reboots and backs up. :D

its crap if you brick your phone tho....

I strongly advise at least learning how to do everything manually. as when it wont start you wont be able to get into rom manager.....

I have a backup of the latest Swedish spring on my SD card which was made using clockwork; also my phone is the zte blade/orange sanfran. A friend of mine has recently purchase a new sanfran and wants me to root his new phone and install the same rom and apps that I have on my phone.

My question is:

Could I just copy the backup of my rom onto his SD card, then after rooting and installing clockwork onto his new phone, restore the backup (which was made of my phone) onto his phone? Would that work?

I think you can do this, but if I remember correctly it has the significant disadvantage that your google details will then end up on his phone (ie your email, and so your market details etc). It's not an easy matter to change the primary google account (if it's even possible)

IMHO it's probably easier just to start again from scratch

I was thinking the only problem may be my gmail and market logins being ‘restored’ to his phone and I've never tried doing this before, as you say it might not be straight forward to change account settings either. I guess it’s best to start from scratch to be safe.

wouldn't reccomend doing this....

would be better for you to just flash him clockwork and then a rooted rom (such as your SS5)

if you restore nandoids from one phone to each other you can run into some problems (with weird and sometimes quite bad outcomes)

for example, you "unique" phone IDs such as your MAC address will be copied across. this will mean if you ever use the same wifi router at the same time, if one of you requested something (eg tries to access a website) the router will get confused between where to send that infomation. both devices will recieve fragmented bits of the download, which if its something important has the potential to badword up your device (tho this is only temp.)

other problems, (which i cba to list) could affect you. none of them are unrepairable just annoying. the obvious one being he will have access to your google account. meaning he can buy apps and you will foot the bill (he might not realise your being billed, he might thing something has badword up the market and apps are free!)

if you want you could make him a tpt (or simular) with the rom and the apps in. (i.e. just the app, not the data folder so he does not get your info).

however what i would do, (if i really wanted to do this!) would be:

flash clockwork oh his phone,

install a rooted rom,

on my phone backup all my apps i want him to have in titanium (JUST THE APP. NOT DATA)

then when on his phone install titanium and restore all the apps.

this should have the same effect. without the problems ;)

Also, some apps may rely on IMEI numbers = problems.
