Guest Loulisk Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Did you know that entering a date beyond 2038 could brick your ZTE Blade? Well, apparently it can. As you can imagine, I learned this the hard way and now I am left without a phone [on the Froyo Swedish R5 Rom (Gen2), it gets stuck in an infinite loop on the silver android letters screen]. I can still access clockwork 3.0.2.7, but no amount of wiping data or cache, or even re-flashing, seems to reset the date in one the phone can understand. Is there any way at all to deep hardware reset the phone? I am prepared to take the whole thing apart, in case there is a cmos battery or something I should remove. Who would imagine, after countless ROM flashes gone perfectly, that I would manage brick my phone with the stinking date...
Guest craigb244 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 there is a reset button behind the battery cover next to the camera. ive never pressed it myself but you can try it.
Guest Loulisk Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) Thank God, guys, I applied this TPT http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...r-easy-install/ and it fixed the time and date. Those last couple of hours have been horrifying (especially since I am too broke to buy a new phone). So, word to the wise, whatever you do DON'T screw with the date. It ain't as harmless as one would think... Edited June 14, 2011 by Loulisk
Guest slitz Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Wow this is rather funny, not sure why anyone would purposely set their date that far forward though. Purposely brick your phone so you can warranty it?!
