It maybe running an older Snapdragon processor and graphics chip but it is still a Snapdragon! (Phones are still being released with the slightly updated version) The streak can still do everything any other phone can do right now. Quad core processors are also in the works.. So buying a dual core device just to have "the latest and greatest" maybe a mistake So it all comes down to price. Imo £200 is a steal for this device ;) Though it defiantly isn't worth £400 now Edited June 14, 2011 by Azurren

What do you think about battery life? I love streak but I don´t want to mistake...only seen on videos and images.

If youre tied to a carrier I wouldnt burn an upgrade on it. Nice stuff coming out soon Im sure. I just got a replacement , Im on 351 on AT&T and battery is very nice. Newest stock roms have very good battery, theres always aftermarket battery if you dont mind adding a little size. Cons, I think everyone would agree is custom ROMs. StreakDroid is more than enough for me. I love this thing, wont get anything smaller now. Next device will probably be 7-9 inches ;) BTW, mine still came with Android 1.6 out of the box..... not good. not sure exactly what you're looking for, but if you have a chance try to demo the HTC Flyer, its wifi only at the moment but very nice. 7" Edited June 14, 2011 by chrisrotolo

Worst: No honeycomb ;) (yet..) Is starting to get dated Build quality (Its good but has some flaws) Price of accessories.. Battery life has been good (For an android phone). Overall very impressed and would recommend if you can get a good deal (Imo better than any other single core device on the market right now) Edited June 14, 2011 by Azurren

I´ve seen HTC Flyer but it´s very big and heavy. I want the device fit on my pocket. 5" is the top for me now. I like Galaxy S2 too but 4.3" it´s small for me. Thanks.

I would like to try the device or carry it for a moment at less but I´ve only the way to buy it over Internet. So maybe I´ll buy it today.
Guest coronet Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I wouldn't buy on contract. You can find them new in the states for 300USD, and 200GBP in the UK (apparently). A bit hefty, but you can turn it around for probably 30% of that cost when you decide to get another phone within the year (if you are that anxious for quadruple core processing on a platform that hasn't even integrated multi-core in it's architecture). I suggest finding a warranty, too, because quality can by shaky. It seems possible a 5" phone will come in 2011 given the creep toward 4.3" as a standard, 4.5" as an option, and 7" as a concept, but no guess as who will be picking up the design.
Guest roninair2 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Guys, All streak 5 has 512 MB RAM? Thanks again
Guest Azurren Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Guys, All streak 5 has 512 MB RAM? Thanks again Yes, and a 1ghz processor
Guest roninair2 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Yes, and a 1ghz processor Last question please. Streak play 1080p or 1080i fluently? 720? Thanks. Regards.
Guest zmijek Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 not sure about 1080p, 720 works fine i believe. regarding main question: PROS: battery life screen - size and great in direct sunlight well that were the reasons why i chose Streak. CONS: its not newest platform (only some of the newest Glu games are too slow on it) still no official Gingerbread (alternatives available through) forget about official accessories, too pricey (I recommend Otterbox case for it) In general, when i saw the news that Streak is now only £200, i was seriously considering getting another one. Buy it or wait for next gen. (if you are lucky only 6 month) and spend much more on it.

Guest rebski Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 In general, when i saw the news that Streak is now only £200, i was seriously considering getting another one. Thanks zmijek. I´m searching where to buy it now... I bought one of these to have as a spare in the UK Carphone Warehouse clearout, as did my brother. I am not too bothered by incremental improvements in hardware by the likes of Samsung. None of them make a 5" screen device so competition for the Streak is zero. Besides there is a lot of room for improvement yet in the Streak, I am confident that Stephen will give us Honeycomb and it seems that Dell has promised us Gingerbread in the meantime. VLC Player for Android is just round the corner and that will solve many of the video performance issues, I am sure. I really don't see this device as approaching obsolescence and I am happy to wait for Dell to leapfrog a generation and bring out a replacement at the end of this year or early next. So with the current low prices for a Streak I really can't see much reason why not, assuming that the 5" screen is the clincher for you.
Guest Azurren Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks zmijek. I´m searching where to buy it now... Anyone else have tested 1080p or 720 video? The streaks camera shots and plays 720p, also most of my Blueray "rips" play just fine 1080p works depending on how "HD" the video really is, generally stuttery and bad audio sync so best to stick with true 720p ;)
