Guest mich8 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Hello, Suddenly my blade's touch screen stops responding. My phone's just booting and stay locked. I have Froyo Stock Rom Installed and no CWM. USB Debugging is not enabled. I want to factory reset or just wipe all data. Booting with Volume+ hold does nothing so i can't connect with fastboot. Is there anything that can i do for just wipe all data?? Thank you in advance
Guest hugobosslives Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 you have tried rebooting right..... ;) erm, first thing that comes to mind (without fastboot or ADB) is to tpt your rom on again. tho, i dunno from your post if your gen1 or gen2? some stock gen2 phones have tpt disabled out of the box.
Guest mich8 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Thank you for your reply, I have Greek Wind 2.2 Stock ROM. Wind has a utility that flash automatically this ROM. (http://www.wind.com.gr/zteblade/PSTW_DL_P729BWINDV1.0.0B01Temp20110412.exe ) I think that is gen2. The only thing that i can do is to boot at FTM. From FTM i can reflash the ROM with this utility but all data are still there. If TPT is working what can i do? Btw does anyone know if the reset button at the back can be used for something except just reseting the phone? Thank you,
Guest hugobosslives Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 and when you reflash the rom through ftm does it still have the touchscreen problem? does it still not work? dam its hard to think of what to do because you dont have clockwork or fastboot. these two have always got me out of trouble. thinking about it I'm not sure if gen2 phones can do tpts from stock. if they do you just put the tpt image in a folder on the root of your sdcard called "image". (eg /sdcard/image/ ) then turn on with vol + and menu held down. I would have a look around to see if tpts work on stock gen2 phones. don't despair. it's not bricked as you could always windows flash it to gen1 and then back to gen2 once you've sorted it out. but this should be done only as a last resort.
Guest mich8 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 MM and how can i flash it to gen1? btw i m not sure that wipe will fix the screen problem but i want to try this first..
Guest hugobosslives Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) hey man sorry bout not getting back to you. I was kinda hopping someone else who has a good idea would come along and come up with a solution to your problem. I have always have had cwm for when it goes wrong (and then fastboot, and tpts for when that doesnt work!) therefore I'm pretty stumped on this one. sorry. can you just confirm for people reading this: phone boots but unresponsive (cannot get past lockscreen) holding vol + just boots as normal (for fastboot it should stay on android man) holding vol - goes to ftm. (no custom recovery installed) ADB does not respond( ie you don't have an insure boot image) and tpts do not flash (an image folder on sdcard then hold vol + and menu) should help someone cleverer than me ;) Edited June 16, 2011 by hugobosslives
Guest mich8 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Thank you very much for your help, I finally install CWM and some custom Roms (SS 5),reflash the stock one but the problem remains. I think that maybe the problem is not software but hardware.
Guest k0zmic Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Thank you very much for your help, I finally install CWM and some custom Roms (SS 5),reflash the stock one but the problem remains. I think that maybe the problem is not software but hardware. It may well be a bust digitizer if the issue remains on more than one ROM.
Guest hugobosslives Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 did you wipe the data partition? installing a rom only automatically wipes /system. out of interest.... how did you manage to get clockwork installed without the above mentioned method? I agree with the above post. check out the how to change a digitizer thread. they're only about £20 and are (apparently) quite easy to fit.
Guest SanFranciscoChris Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Hi, Same problem here ;) About 2 days ago phone would not unlock as pattern not recognised. After 15 attempts got pushed to google to log in and reset - however the bit of screen not working is over the c and the v so I can't log in as my email address starts with c - I'm watching with interest.
