I have a Viewpad 10s with internal 3G/GPS modem. I am running CorvusKernel 0.2 (non AOSP version) and my own ROM Ganbarou V 1.0. But the same problem happens with other ROMs.

The GPS never finds a fix, so I started investigations, special because other users of my ROM report that the GPS is working for them.

I started logcat immediately after booting of the tablet starts and get the following: (Filtered to show only GPS related messages)

08:20:23.671 Debug gps_hw 1083 gps_get_hardware_interface: called

08:20:24.218 Debug gps_hw 1083 hw_gps_init: called

Anybody has an idea why the access to the GPS communication port is denied?

Hiya ... not familiar with internal GPS systems but maybe you have the same timing problems as external devices so why not try downloading the GPS On/off widget I have mentioned previously in my GPS threads and see if that makes any difference. Worth a try anyway ;)

Tried it already. Not working.

The problem occurs long before Android is showing the lock screen. Must be somewhere deep in the system or kernel. Maybe my 3G/GPS modem is slower during initializing than others. I know another user on a German forum who has the same problem.
