Guest sconie Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) Hi all, sorry to waste your time but I managed to load the Honeycomb rom on to my Vega by following the online tutorials, however I have hit a wall when it comes to the next steps, I am struggling to enable flash for youtube and the like, and I can't crack how to "Enable USB Host", is this a seperate ad on to the Honeycomb Rom ?, and if so could someone post a link to coach me through this. Sorry again, I did search but kept hitting the wrong subjects. Thanks Edited June 16, 2011 by sconie

Thanks you tube app or in the browser? it wont play hd youtube vids but normal you tube is fine, it should ask you to install flash if it isnt already there first time you open the browser. However vegacomb doesnt yet support flash properly so if thats a big issue for you perhaps try corvus5. as for enabling usb host mode reboot the vega when the backlight comes on ( screen illuminates but no images ) press and hold the back button until vegacomb image appears. once fully booted you will be in host mode

If you had properly read the first post on the Vegacombe thread instead of starting a new thread, you would have found the answer. And it's clearly stated in the thread and by hundreds of other posters that Flash is not working. Edited June 16, 2011 by ViPaSoft
Guest sconie Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks, so from todays Honeycomb rom, I don't need to install anything else ?, I tried the USB Host mode trick and it worked great, although the player does not see my movies, I presume they have to be a special format and not .AVI as they are now ?. Thanks again.

When i came to this thread from advent website in february i had never been on a forum before, i had no idea of the etiquette or that you could search so i think you need to cut new members some slack, and as paul obviously has no intention of stickying the few excellent threads on here from simonta, add.the bad, solidare , beepo666 etc it is up to the majjority of members to help where they can and bump the appropriare threads up. In less words than you wrote you could have just helped the guy ;)

Guest sconie Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Good point. Sconie, I apologise. Dont sweat it, I did spend most of yesterday searching, reading and instaling, such a tide of information' that sometimes it's easy to get lost, I have everything running nice ( exception of the browser, keeps crashing !) trying some live wallpaper and apps with mixed results, but very happy so far. Many thanks again to you all, I hope I can help others in return. Cheers.
Guest theeskimo Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 I get really confused on the forum too. I think we need a wiki. I might make one.
