Installing the Latest VegaComb

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to install the latest disro of VegaComb (1.6 I think) from ClockworkMod (in Recovery mode) using the "Install ROM from SD card"?

The first time I installed VegaComb I did it using Newbe5s' brilliant tutorial, but have since migrated to the Corvus5 ROM. I would like to be able to give VegaComb another try as it goes through different iterations.

I current have my Vega set-up with Corvus5 SP1 and have used ClockworkMod to backup different flavours of installation which I can recover to (the base ROM, the Corvus5 working copy etc) from Recovery mode. I would like to be able to add a stable VegaComb to this list so I can swicth between versions.

Is this possible?

Gratitude for any answers.

As the others have already told you, yes, that is the way to install it. Copy the zip file to the SD, go into Recovery, wipe data, wipe cashe, wipe Darvik cashe (Most Important), then install the zip file from the SD. Takes only a few minutes and if you deleted the Darvik cashe, Vegacomb will run beautifully - fast and securely.

In case you do not know where to find the Darvik cashe, it is under Advanced in the CWM recovery options list.

Enjoy.

The above is no longer true. The latest VegaComb (1.7) has had to be altered to change the size of the partitions. This means that you must first install a modified version of the stock ROM before you can install VegaComb. The threads below contain all the information you require. Please read all the posts in these threads.

How to install the modded stock ROM.

Then go to this link to see how to install the latest version of VegaComb (1.7).
